Lessons from a blood draw.

My good friends from Denver, Dr. John Rich and his lovely wife, Jo.  John was a gentle healer.  John was the Chief of Plastic Surgeon for the Army prior to his retirement.  Jo passed in 2003 and is still missed by her family and friends.

Day of Year: 81

Favorite Verse: Matthew 21.
“Say to Daughter Zion,
‘See, your king comes to you,
gentle and riding on a donkey,
and on a colt, the foal of a donkey.’”[a]

Thought for the day:
I had blood drawn recently. The man who did it was the best I've ever had.  I could hardly feel it.  As he was putting on the cotton swab, I asked him, "When are we getting started?"  He laughed. He knew he had been gentle and had done a good job.

Gentle and king. They don't seem to go together, but in Jesus they do. At Jesus' birth, He was announced as king of the Jews. He was not a dictator, power welding king, but a servant king. He came to those who were lame, blind, broken down or outcast and He gently lifted them. When one has fallen, one of the best ways to serve is with gentleness.
