10.29-Jesus and the Father send the Holy Spirit to come along side us and comfort and guide us and give peace.

10.29- John 14. 15  “If you love Me, you will keep My commandments. Role of the Spirit 16  I will ask the Father, and He will give you another [ b ] Helper, that He may be with you forever; 17  that is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not see Him or know Him, but you know Him because He abides with you and will be in you. 18  “I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. 19  [ c ] After a little while the world will no longer see Me, but you will see Me; because I live, you will live also. 20  In that day you will know that I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you. 21  He who has My commandments and keeps them is the one who loves Me; and he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and will disclose Myself to him.” 22  Judas (not Iscariot) *said to Him, “Lord, what then has happened that You are going to disclose Yourself to us and not to the world?” 23  Jes...

10.28-Jesus is in the Father and the Father is in Him.

10.28- John 14. 5  Thomas *said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going, how do we know the way?” 6  Jesus *said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me. Oneness with the Father 7  If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; from now on you know Him, and have seen Him.” 8  Philip *said to Him, “Lord, show us the Father, and it is enough for us.” 9  Jesus *said to him, “Have I been so long with you, and yet you have not come to know Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; how can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? 10  Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father is in Me? The words that I say to you I do not speak on My own initiative, but the Father abiding in Me does His works. 11  Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father is in Me; otherwise believe because of the works themselves. 12  Truly, truly, I say to you, he who beli...

10.27-We bless our God because He doesn't want our heart troubled. He gives us hope in heaven.

10.27- John 14. 14  “Do not let your heart be troubled; [ a ] believe in God, believe also in Me. 2  In My Father’s house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you. 3  If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be also. 4  And you know the way where I am going.” Psalm 145 145  I will extol You, my God, O King, And I will bless Your name forever and ever. 2  Every day I will bless You, And I will praise Your name forever and ever. 3  Great is the Lord , and highly to be praised, And His greatness is unsearchable. 4  One generation shall praise Your works to another, And shall declare Your mighty acts. 5  On the glorious [ a ] splendor of Your majesty And on Your wonderful works, I will meditate. 6  Men shall speak of the [ b ] power of Your awesome acts, And I will tell of Your greatness. 7 ...

I don't want any gifts from you!

This morning starting at about 5.16am I started receiving gifts.     I woke up.   Great blessing after age 70.   I could move.    Slowly and with pain, but I loosened up and soon the pain was much less.      Had the gift of a cup of Texas pecan coffee. Ground it myself and it smelled good grinding and as the hot water poured over the crushed beans.   I put some gift from some cows into the cup and it was absolutely wake up arousing to my spirit.      I only had time for one cup as a headed to a meeting of some guys and the host gave me and some other guys the gift of cinnamon rolls, donuts, sausage rolls and some more coffee.   He usually has a donation jar for some orphans in Africa, but it was not there today. I had my second cup and a sausage roll and sat down to some good friendship time. I still had it in my mind that I wanted to gift a gift to someone today like I had been given. ...

10.26-Our Savior in Heaven is our Rock and Our Refuge

10.26- Luke 24. 50  And He led them out as far as Bethany, and He lifted up His hands and blessed them. 51  While He was blessing them, He parted from them and was carried up into heaven. 52  And they, after worshiping Him, returned to Jerusalem with great joy, 53  and were continually in the temple [ t ] praising God. Psalm 144 144  Blessed be the Lord , my rock, Who trains my hands for war, And my fingers for battle; 2  My lovingkindness and my fortress, My stronghold and my deliverer, My shield and He in whom I take refuge, Who subdues [ a ] my people under me. 3  O Lord , what is man, that You take knowledge of him? Or the son of man, that You think of him? 4  Man is like a mere breath; His days are like a passing shadow. 5  Bow Your heavens, O Lord , and come down; Touch the mountains, that they may smoke. 6  Flash forth lightning and scatter them; Send out Your arrows and confuse them. 7  Stretch forth Your ha...

When someone we love says "No" to us.

Those who love us the most are most likely to tell us "No". Once I was in a tight financial bind and I asked my dad about are giant loan based on my assets in my house in Colorado.  I still remember his words. "I am not interested in any property in Colorado."  In other words. "No." I was responsible for the food and shelter of my family, my wife, my two children and myself and Thanksgiving was around the corner and I couldn't understand how my dad could say, "No."  He did tell me that he had the resources to send me some money to help buy some food for thanksgiving and for that month. One time Jesus asked His Father in heaven for something and the answer was "No".  How could this be?  Because the larger plan was not for the comfort and convenience of Jesus, but for His fulfilling His purpose on earth which included dying on the cross. We must be preparing to stand on our own two feet.  We are all given different resources t...

10.25-We see Jesus in the breaking of the bread.

10.25 Luke 24. 26  Was it not necessary for the [ f ] Christ to suffer these things and to enter into His glory?” 27  Then beginning [ g ] with Moses and [ h ] with all the prophets, He explained to them the things concerning Himself in all the Scriptures. 28  And they approached the village where they were going, and He acted as though He were going farther. 29  But they urged Him, saying, “Stay with us, for it is getting toward evening, and the day [ i ] is now nearly over.” So He went in to stay with them. 30  When He had reclined at the table with them, He took the bread and blessed it , and breaking it , He began giving it to them. 31  Then their eyes were opened and they recognized Him; and He vanished from [ j ] their sight. 32  They said to one another, “ [ k ] Were not our hearts burning within us while He was speaking to us on the road, while He was [ l ] explaining the Scriptures to us?” 33  And they got up that very hour ...

10.24-Men are slow of heart to believe, but when we believe we see great changes.

10.24- Luke 24. 13  And behold, two of them were going that very day to a village named Emmaus, which was [ d ] about seven miles from Jerusalem. 14  And they were talking with each other about all these things which had taken place. 15  While they were talking and discussing, Jesus Himself approached and began traveling with them. 16  But their eyes were prevented from recognizing Him. 17  And He said to them, “What are these words that you are exchanging with one another as you are walking?” And they stood still, looking sad. 18  One of them , named Cleopas, answered and said to Him, “Are You [ e ] the only one visiting Jerusalem and unaware of the things which have happened here in these days?” 19  And He said to them, “What things?” And they said to Him, “The things about Jesus the Nazarene, who was a prophet mighty in deed and word in the sight of God and all the people, 20  and how the chief priests and our rulers delivered Him t...

10.23-The unbelieving world may think of resurrection as non-sense, but to Christians it is our central reality. Jesus forever.

10.23- The Gospel goes to all nations not just our nation.   We must stay focused on making disciples.   Elections come and go.   Presidents come and go.   The King, Jesus, and His kingdom are forever. Luke 24. 24  But on the first day of the week, at early dawn, they came to the tomb bringing the spices which they had prepared. 2  And they found the stone rolled away from the tomb, 3  but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. 4  While they were perplexed about this, behold, two men suddenly stood near them in dazzling clothing; 5  and as the women were terrified and bowed their faces to the ground, the men said to them, “Why do you seek the living One among the dead? 6  He is not here, but He has [ a ] risen. Remember how He spoke to you while He was still in Galilee, 7  saying that the Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.”...
