Refreshing Our Spirits With Scripture

12.9- God created the Jewish family to prepare for the coming of the Messiah, Jesus.  They had some of the same problems we have with religion 3,000 years later.  The leaders of a family or church or even a nation can become focused on selfish, greedy things and God is not happy. We can as a group change and become more healthy.  Beth Moore tweeted about this right after Thanksgiving. Learning to deal honestly. To talk about arduous things. To have the necessary conflicts safely. To shed the built up tears. To address offenses & admit our way wasn’t working, that it had never worked. These are things God uses to save the Moores. 12.8 Self-control is a choice available to us as humans. Today, I choose joy. Proverbs 25. 28  Like a city that is broken into and without walls Is a man who has no control over his spirit.

12.7- Do not be afraid of anyone but God.   Be careful how you think and feel about God.   If you are a child of God then He is going to discipline you and painfully correct you at times, but be assured you are His child and eventually things will work out okay.
