16 Days till Christmas John 14. 3  And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. Psalm 127 Unless the Lord builds the house,      the builders labor in vain. Unless the Lord watches over the city,      the guards stand watch in vain. 2  In vain you rise early      and stay up late, toiling for food to eat—      for he grants sleep to [ a ] those he loves. 3  Children are a heritage from the Lord ,      offspring a reward from him. 4  Like arrows in the hands of a warrior      are children born in one’s youth. 5  Blessed is the man      whose quiver is full of them. They will not be put to shame      when they contend with their opponents in court.

1 John 5. 3  In fact, this is love for God: to keep his commands. And his commands are not burdensome, Psalm 84. How lovely is your dwelling place,      Lord Almighty! 2  My soul yearns, even faints,      for the courts of the Lord ; my heart and my flesh cry out      for the living God. 3  Even the sparrow has found a home,      and the swallow a nest for herself,      where she may have her young— a place near your altar,      Lord Almighty, my King and my God. 4  Blessed are those who dwell in your house;      they are ever praising you. [ c ] 5  Blessed are those whose strength is in you,      whose hearts are set on pilgrimage. 6  As they pass through the Valley of Baka,      they make it a place of springs;      the autumn rains also cover it with pools. [ d ] 7  They go from strength to strength,      till each appears before God in Zion. 8  Hear my prayer, Lord God Almighty;      listen to me, God of Jacob. 9  Look on our shield, [ e ] O God;      look

1 John 4. 4  You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world. Psalm 57 Have mercy on me, my God, have mercy on me,      for in you I take refuge. I will take refuge in the shadow of your wings      until the disaster has passed. 2  I cry out to God Most High,      to God, who vindicates me. 3  He sends from heaven and saves me,      rebuking those who hotly pursue me— [ c ]      God sends forth his love and his faithfulness.  

12.7- 1 John 2. 1 My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have an advocate with the Father—Jesus Christ, the Righteous One. Psalm 81. Sing for joy to God our strength;      shout aloud to the God of Jacob! 2  Begin the music, strike the timbrel,      play the melodious harp and lyre. 3  Sound the ram’s horn at the New Moon,      and when the moon is full, on the day of our festival; 4  this is a decree for Israel,      an ordinance of the God of Jacob. 5  When God went out against Egypt,      he established it as a statute for Joseph. I heard an unknown voice say: 6  “I removed the burden from their shoulders;      their hands were set free from the basket.  

1 John 1.7 7  But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all [ b ] sin. Psalm 32. Blessed is the one      whose transgressions are forgiven,      whose sins are covered. 2  Blessed is the one      whose sin the Lord does not count against them      and in whose spirit is no deceit. 3  When I kept silent,      my bones wasted away      through my groaning all day long. 4  For day and night      your hand was heavy on me; my strength was sapped      as in the heat of summer. [ b ] 5  Then I acknowledged my sin to you      and did not cover up my iniquity. I said, “I will confess      my transgressions to the Lord .” And you forgave      the guilt of my sin.

12.5 John 10. 28  I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand. Psalm 56 Be merciful to me, my God,      for my enemies are in hot pursuit;      all day long they press their attack. 2  My adversaries pursue me all day long;      in their pride many are attacking me. 3  When I am afraid, I put my trust in you. 4       In God, whose word I praise— in God I trust and am not afraid.      What can mere mortals do to me?  

Matthew 1. 21  She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, [ f ] because he will save his people from their sins.” Psalm 69 1  Save me, O God,      for the waters have come up to my neck. 2  I sink in the miry depths,      where there is no foothold. I have come into the deep waters;      the floods engulf me. 3  I am worn out calling for help;      my throat is parched. My eyes fail,      looking for my God.
