8.16-Who are you watching and why?

Day of Year: 228 Date:8.16.14 Favorite Verse: Luke 14.1 14  It happened that when He went into the house of one of the [ a ] leaders of the Pharisees on the Sabbath to eat bread, they were watching Him closely. Thought for the day:  The mistake that many religious leaders make is that they focus on fixing others instead of opening their hearts to allow God to fix themselves.  Jesus Reading (Ten Minutes): Luke 14.1-6 + Rest of New Testament: Colossians 2.6-15 +Psalm of the Day:  Psalm 118.25-29 +Proverb of the Day:  Proverbs 18.22 +Rest of Old Testament: Job 28

Martin Luther King, Jr. Luke 5. 17 [h]One day He was teaching; and there were some Pharisees and teachers of the law sitting there, who had come from every village of Galilee and Judea and from Jerusalem; and the power of the Lord was present for Him to perform healing . 18 And some men were carrying on a [i]bed a man who was paralyzed; and they were trying to bring him in and to set him down in front of Him. 19 But not finding any way to bring him in because of the crowd, they went up on the roof and let him down through the tiles with his stretcher, into the middle of the crowd, in front of Jesus. 20 Seeing their faith, He said, “[j]Friend, your sins are forgiven you.” 21 The scribes and the Pharisees began to reason, saying, “Who is this man who ...

Day of Year: 227 Date:8.15.14 Favorite Verse: Luke 13.34 34  O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the city that kills the prophets and stones those sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, just as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, and you would not have it ! Thought for the day:  Jesus cries for people to come together in love instead of the hate and war that fills our newscasts today. Day of Year: 224 Date: 8.12.14 Favorite Verse: Luke 13.3 3  I tell you, no, but unless you [ b ] repent, you will all likewise perish.   Thought for the day: When a large group of people die at one time there is a thought why did they die and others did not.  Some suggest they did something wrong and needed to repent and turn to God.  Jesus said that everyone needs to repent and turn to God.   Jesus Reading (Ten Minutes): Luke 13.1-9 + Rest of New Testament: Colossians 1.1-8 +Psalm of the Day: Psalm 118.1-9 +Proverb of the Day: Proverbs 18.16 +Rest of Old Testament: Job 19,20
