8.9-Surrender greed. Surrender things to God and watch what happens.

Day of Year: 221 Date: 8.9.14 Favorite Verse: Luke 12. 15  Then He said to them, “Beware, and be on your guard against every form of greed; for not even when one has an abundance does his life consist of his possessions.”   Thought for the day: Greed leads to wars, big and small.  Release things and forgive people and peace comes. God asks that we surrender the control of things to our Father in heaven. 8.8-Be fearless of people. This is necessary with religious bullies and others.

Day of Year: 220 Date:8.8.14 Favorite Verse: Luke 12.4 4  “I say to you, My friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body and after that have no more that they can do.   Thought for the day: Jesus sets an example for His followers to be fearless.  This gives boldness to speak truth to power and to be ready to hear the truth about yourself from those who train us. 8.7-Jesus exposes fools gold.

Day of Year: 219 Date: 8.7.14 Favorite Verse: Luke 11.39-41 39  But the Lord said to him, “Now you Pharisees clean the outside of the cup and of the platter; but [ ac ] inside of you, you are full of robbery and wickedness. 40  You foolish ones, did not He who made the outside make the inside also? 41  But give that which is within as charity, and [ ad ] then all things are clean for you. Thought for the day: Transformation to be genuine needs to transform the heart and soul and mind.  Otherwise it is an pretension and an act. Fools gold. 8.6-Is ia sign of righteousness or wickedness that people seek signs and miracles from God?

Day of Year: 218 Date:8.6.14 Favorite Verse: Luke 11.29 29  As the crowds were increasing, He began to say, “This generation is a wicked generation; it seeks for a [ u ] sign, and yet no [ v ] sign will be given to it but the [ w ] sign of Jonah.   Thought for the day:  Jesus approach to prayer was for the unity and closeness of people more than for their comfort and convenience. 8.5-Is Jesus a radical? He said, "He who is not with Me is against me; and he who does not gather with me scatters."

Day of Year: 217 Date:8.5.14 Favorite Verse: Luke 11.23 23  He who is not with Me is against Me; and he who does not gather with Me, scatters. Thought for the day:  God wants all His children gathered together in one flock.  He does not want His children to be killing each other. 8.4-Why does Jesus emphasize praying for "daily bread"?

Your kingdom come. 3  ‘Give us each day our [ c ] daily bread. 4  ‘And forgive us our sins, For we ourselves also forgive everyone who is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation.’” Thought for the day: God help us also to forgive others the way we have been forgiven.
