Refreshing Our Spirits With Scripture

 2.14- Whatever God calls you to do, He gives you the power to do it with His help and guidance.. Matthew 28. 18  And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying,  “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.   19  Go   [ c ] therefore and   make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,   20  teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am   with you always,  even  to the end of the age.”   [ d ] Amen.

 2.13- My heart is sad for people who have just enough religion to make them miserable and not enough to give them freedom and joy.. Romans 5 5  Therefore, having been justified by faith,  [ a ] we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,  2  through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.  3  And not only  that,  but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces  [ b ] perseverance;  4  and perseverance,  [ c ] character; and character, hope.  5  Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

 2.12- Moses wasn't cornered up against the Red Sea but Pharoah was trapped by the Red Sea. Powerful ruler versus God. God wins. It isn't us getting God on our side but us getting on God's side as Abraham Lincoln said. Exodus 14. 13  And Moses said to the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand still, and see the salvation [ b ]  of the  Lord , which He will accomplish for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall see again no more forever.  14  The  Lord  will fight for you, and you shall hold [ c ]  your peace.” 15  And the  Lord  said to Moses, “Why do you cry to Me? Tell the children of Israel to go forward.  16  But lift up your rod, and stretch out your hand over the sea and divide it. And the children of Israel shall go on dry  ground  through the midst of the sea.  17  And I indeed will harden the hearts of the Egyptians, and they shall follow them.  2.11- Self righteousness is no righteousness. Luke 18. 9  Also He spoke this parable to some who trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others:  10  “Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector.   11  The Pharisee   stood and prayed thus with himself,   ‘God, I thank You that I am not like other men—extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this tax collector.   12  I fast twice a week; I give tithes of all that I possess.’   13  And the tax collector, standing afar off, would not so much as raise  his  eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying, ‘God, be merciful to me a sinner!’   14  I tell you, this man went down to his house justified  rather  than the other;   for everyone who exalts himself will be   [ d ] humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.”

 2.10- Lead with grace, mercy and peace. 1 Timothy 1 1  Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ, by the commandment of God our Savior and the Lord Jesus Christ, our hope, 2  To Timothy, a true son in the faith: Grace, mercy,  and  peace from God our Father and Jesus Christ our Lord.

 2.9- I bet most of you don't remember what happened on September 23, 1987. God reigned. Joe Biden withdrew from the Presidential race. Thirty three years later God reigns. The Bible says God appoints government leaders. God reigns. One nation under God. God is still in control. Romans 13. 13  Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God.  2  Therefore whoever resists the authority resists the ordinance of God, and those who resist will  [ a ] bring judgment on themselves.  3  For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to evil. Do you want to be unafraid of the authority? Do what is good, and you will have praise from the same.  4  For he is God’s minister to you for good.  2.8- Coffee beside my recliner/writing/thinking/praying place. The early morning pill taken. Next thing you know "yrral drahsiw" the champion of getting things backward, cart before the horse and other things is crawling around like a baby on the floor. I get down on my knees.. Feeling in my recliner, under it, right side floor, left side floor. My chairside table. Under the two remotes and cell phone and house phone. The first thing in my day should not require eyeglasses or sight or even eyes. It does require that I open the eyes of my heart and be grateful. Finally found them where I usually find lost stuff. Where I left them on my night stand. To get on my knees and be thankful might be a better first thing habit. Then thankful if I can get up and walk.
