8.13-Jesus is not nice. He is bold. He is loving. He is strong. He is gentle. But nice. No.

8.13- Mark 11. 11  As they *approached Jerusalem, at Bethphage and Bethany, near the Mount of Olives, He *sent two of His disciples, 2  and *said to them, “Go into the village opposite you, and immediately as you enter it, you will find a colt tied there , on which no one yet has ever sat; untie it and bring it here . 3  If anyone says to you, ‘Why are you doing this?’ you say, ‘The Lord has need of it’; and immediately he [ a ] will send it back here.” 4  They went away and found a colt tied at the door, outside in the street; and they *untied it. 5  Some of the bystanders were saying to them, “What are you doing, untying the colt?” 6  They spoke to them just as Jesus had told them , and they gave them permission. 7  They *brought the colt to Jesus and put their coats on it; and He sat on it. 8  And many spread their coats in the road, and others spread leafy branches which they had cut from the fields. 9  Those who went in front and those who followed were shouting: “H

8.12-Do not place burdens on others that you will not pay. Do not pray long prayers for pretense. Don't be a blowhard.

8.12 Matthew 23. 23  Then Jesus spoke to the crowds and to His disciples, 2  saying: “The scribes and the Pharisees have seated themselves in the chair of Moses; 3  therefore all that they tell you, do and observe, but do not do according to their deeds; for they say things and do not do them . 4  They tie up heavy burdens and lay them on men’s shoulders, but they themselves are unwilling to move them with so much as a finger. 5  But they do all their deeds to be noticed by men; for they broaden their [ a ] phylacteries and lengthen the tassels of their garments . 6  They love the place of honor at banquets and the chief seats in the synagogues, 7  and respectful greetings in the market places, and being called Rabbi by men. 8  But do not be called Rabbi; for One is your Teacher, and you are all brothers. 9  Do not call anyone on earth your father; for One is your Father, He who is in heaven. 10  Do not be called [ b ] leaders; for One is your Leader, that is , Christ.

8.11-The Master gives different talents to different people. He wants us to use reasonable risk and hard work. We should not be afraid or lazy.

8.11- Matthew 25. 25  “Then the kingdom of heaven will be comparable to ten virgins, who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. 2  Five of them were foolish, and five were prudent. 3  For when the foolish took their lamps, they took no oil with them, 4  but the prudent took oil in flasks along with their lamps. 5  Now while the bridegroom was delaying, they all got drowsy and began to sleep. 6  But at midnight there was a shout, ‘Behold, the bridegroom! Come out to meet him .’ 7  Then all those virgins rose and trimmed their lamps. 8  The foolish said to the prudent, ‘Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.’ 9  But the prudent answered, ‘No, there will not be enough for us and you too ; go instead to the dealers and buy some for yourselves.’ 10  And while they were going away to make the purchase, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the wedding feast; and the door was shut. 11  Later the other virgins also came,

8.10-God wants people to be productive. Not a hand out. A hand up. Not to patronize and make weak, but encourage to make strong.

8.10- Matthew 20 20  “For the kingdom of heaven is like [ a ] a landowner who went out early in the morning to hire laborers for his vineyard. 2  When he had agreed with the laborers for a [ b ] denarius for the day, he sent them into his vineyard. 3  And he went out about the [ c ] third hour and saw others standing idle in the market place; 4  and to those he said, ‘You also go into the vineyard, and whatever is right I will give you.’ And so they went. 5  Again he went out about the [ d ] sixth and the ninth hour, and did [ e ] the same thing. 6  And about the [ f ] eleventh hour he went out and found others standing around ; and he *said to them, ‘Why have you been standing here idle all day long?’ 7  They *said to him, ‘Because no one hired us.’ He *said to them, ‘You go into the vineyard too.’ 8  “When evening came, the [ g ] owner of the vineyard *said to his foreman, ‘Call the laborers and pay them their wages, beginning with the last group to the first.’ 9  When
