2.17-What are the qualities of an excellent wife?

Image
2.17- Proverbs 12. An [c]excellent wife is the crown of her husband, But she who shames him is like rottenness in his bones. Women are so capable of caring for people going through hard times. Yesterday was my grandmother Wishard’s, 135th birthday. She confessed that she needed a Savior, Jesus chose her and she chose Him back. She raised eight children and all of them also chose Jesus. Women who love Jesus have the courage to step up in the hardest of times. My grandmother lost her husband before the birth of her eighth child. She faced many disappointments in addition to this loss. She stayed with Jesus and as her children observed her life they chose Him as well. Happy Birthday Mama Wishard. Larry Wishard 2.11.18

2.15-How should employees be treated?

2.15- Today I wanted to write regarding my dad and the way he treated his employees.    Early in my life there were employees that picked cotton.   These were traveling bands of people who came in groups and lived in shacks on our property.   He would pay them the going rate for their work, but treated them with great concern and kindness.   There was never any kind of abuse of them that he would tolerate.   Once a young man went swimming after work and drowned in a pool of ours.   It deeply moved my dad and he hurt over this loss for a long time.    Later during dad’s retirement he hired his good friend, Herman Crowley, to work for him fixing fences and cutting wood and repairing the barns and outbuildings at our place.   Mainly he wanted the companionship and friendship and he thought it would also help Hermon and his family.   He loved them all.     He always tried to give these workers a little more than the normal pay whether in the form of food or drink or just

2.14-Is is wrong to see to be great?

2.14- From Jesus perspective He doesn't seem to condemn His disciples for wanting to be great.  He tells them that for those who want to be great the way to do so is to be a servant.  He makes Himself a slave to God and slave to the needs of those around Him in order to be truly free to succeed.  He lays down His own life as a ransom for others.  Matthew 20. 20  Then the mother of the sons of Zebedee came to [ m ] Jesus with her sons, bowing down and making a request of Him. 21  And He said to her, “What do you wish?” She *said to Him, “Command that in Your kingdom these two sons of mine may sit one on Your right and one on Your left.” 22  But Jesus answered, “You do not know what you are asking. Are you able to drink the cup that I am about to drink?” They *said to Him, “We are able.” 23  He *said to them, “My cup you shall drink; but to sit on My right and on My left, this is not Mine to give, but it is for those for whom it has been prepared by My Father.” 24  And h

2.13- Don't try to be popular with people, but be pleasing to God. Luke 6. 26  Woe to you when all men speak well of you, for their fathers used to [ ad ] treat the false prophets in the same way.

2.12- What kind of spirit does God pour into His children?

2.12- What kind of spirit does God pour into His children? 2 Timothy 1. 7  For God has not given us a spirit of [ f ] timidity, but of power and love and [ g ] discipline.

2.11-How can you tell if people are disciples of Jesus?

2.11- If you want to know who the people of God are ask yourself if they love each other.  If they don't they are not disciples of Jesus. John 13. 34  A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another. 35  By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”
