12.7- Arrogance and conceit are bad. Humility is good.

12.7- Arrogance and conceit are bad. Humility is good. Patsy and H. L. Milton with the help of Ruth Ann wrote a wonderful book called, Milton Memories which contains this great story. A teacher was teaching a lesson on self esteem. She asked if anyone was dumb. A little boy stood up. She said, "Johnny, I didn't know you were dumb. Why did you stand u?" He replied, "I didn't want you to stand up alone." Philippians 2. 2  Therefore if there is any encouragement in Christ, if there is any consolation of love, if there is any fellowship of the Spirit, if any [ a ] affection and compassion, 2  make my joy complete [ b ] by being of the same mind, maintaining the same love, united in spirit, intent on one purpose. 3  Do nothing [ c ] from [ d ] selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind regard one another as more important than yourselves; 4  do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of

12.6- We reason from Scripture and try to explain life from Scripture

12.6- We reason from Scripture and try to explain life from Scripture. Acts 17. 17  Now when they had traveled through Amphipolis and Apollonia, they came to Thessalonica, where there was a synagogue of the Jews. 2  And according to Paul’s custom, he went to them, and for three Sabbaths reasoned with them from the Scriptures, 3 [ a ] explaining and [ b ] giving evidence that the [ c ] Christ had to suffer and rise again from the dead, and saying , “This Jesus whom I am proclaiming to you is the [ d ] Christ.”

12.5- I get tired of living in a place where there is more interest in war than peace.

12.5- I get tired of living in a place where there is more interest in war than peace. Psalm 120.   In my trouble I cried to the Lord , And He answered me. 2  Deliver my soul, O Lord , from lying lips, From a deceitful tongue. 3  What shall be given to you, and what more shall be done to you, You deceitful tongue? 4  Sharp arrows of the warrior, With the burning coals of the broom tree. 5  Woe is me, for I sojourn in Meshech, For I dwell among the tents of Kedar! 6  Too long has my soul had its dwelling With those who hate peace. 7  I am for peace, but when I speak, They are for war.

12.4- The best way to start our day is in prayer with our Father in heaven.   To listen to His will for our lives.   He has the best in mind for us.   Knock and the door will be opened.   Seek and find.   Ask and receive.   He is a Father who will not give a stone when His child has asked for a loaf of bread.   He will not give a snake when the child has asked for a fish.   When we love Him and listen to Him, Our Father, we seek His will over our own, then great things that we can’t imagine happen for us. Luke 4. 42  When day came, Jesus left and went to a secluded place; and the crowds were searching for Him, and came to Him and tried to keep Him from going away from them. 43  But He said to them, “I must preach the kingdom of God to the other cities also, for I was sent for this purpose.” 44  So He kept on preaching in the synagogues of [ u ] Judea. Mark 1. 35  In the early morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house , and went away to a seclud
