The Lifestyle Which Gives a Good Outcome

Larry, Remember that all kinds of people have a soul that needs to be restored and reconciled to God, their Creator.   Jew. Gentile. Samaritan.   Fisherman. Physician. Tax collector. Master. Slave. Elder brothers and prodigal.   Prisoners. What the Bible refers to as “salvation” is not just a one moment in time experience, but is a lifestyle.   A world view.   A way looking at things. This includes these things, but is not limited to them: -A search for justice and fairness. -Gratitude. -Alertness through prayer. -Praying for open doors for the good news of Jesus. -Wise interactions with “outsiders”. -Thoughtfulness about how to respond to each person. -Encouraging everyone to guard their hearts. -Laboring for new spiritual growth for each other. -Expecting maturity to come out of each interaction whether positive or painful. -Deep concern for each other. -Stimulating each other in the community to fulfill their unique mission in life. Only One Appointment is Necessary

Dear Larry, As a follower of Me there will be times that people won’t like you.   Some may even resent you or hate you or wish you were dead.   Don’t let that keep you from following Me.   Stand for what I stood for.   Life is more than this life on earth.   It is appointed for all men to die and after that the judgment of God for people's actions.   Hard times will come and these are opportunities for your love for God and people to grow deeper. Short prayers of the dying.

There is deep grief when a human who has a loving family faces their death.   Humans are made to fight for survival.    In these moments there is a longing to have the people who have loved you to be nearby.   Keeping watch with you so that you are not alone in your dying.   The prayers near then end can be very simple.   One friend of mine had a prayer something like this.   “Could this be the day Lord?”   My very best friend said this “Let this cup pass.”   He said it three times and all He heard was silence.   My friend Jesus is real in this scene, but it isn’t the final scene.   He will return and show that love and grace win over sin and failure.   Come Lord Jesus. Did you ever betray Jesus?

The flesh is weak.   We humans do some foolish things.   We have all sinned.   Judas is not the only betrayer of Jesus.   Peter and all of us who follow Him have sinned against Him.   The difference in our lives is how we react to the admission of our sin against Him.   We can move to grace and forgiveness.   We can move to being closer to God and stronger and more full of joy. Sin or betrayal.>Face the facts.>Remorse>Self-destruction.>Bad mental health. Or Sin or betrayal.>Face the facts.>Remorse>Reception of the gift of forgiveness>More Love for God>Stronger.>Good mental health. Larry Wishard

One Nation Under God

Dear Larry, Don’t let a time of difficulty like war between nations or earthquakes or famines make you think that this is the end of the world.   These things have been going on for over 2,000 years.   Don’t trust nations.   Trust God.   Remember the phrase in America's pledge of allegiance, “One Nation Under God.” Love Jesus
