11.18-The blessing of hospitality

11.18- In the shooting and murders at Sutherland Springs there was one of the families that lost some people in four generations of their family. Someone describing them said that you rarely run into families like this. I don’t know about this specific family, but I do know some amazing families. One of the qualities of families like this is their home is open and warm and friendly and always available. You can drop by any time and visit with them. You don’t need an invitation because they have told you and mean it. “Drop by any time you can." or "any time you are in our area.” They are happy to have you share their next meal with them. It might be fried chicken, okra, mashed potatoes, gravy, corn bread, tomatoes, green beans and pecan pie. It might be scrambled eggs. Either way they can tell you their own stories and hear yours. They can make you feel at home. They can make you feel important. 1 Timothy 3. 3  Here is a trustworthy saying: Whoev

11.17-Being given trouble by someone. Rejoice!

11.17 When we making an impact to change things for the better and change and improve people’s thinking it is normal that they people who liked the other way of thinking will test and challenge and make our life difficult.   This is not abnormal.   This is normal.   When people make trouble for us we should REJOICE!   Why?   Because it means you are counted worthy by God of being strong and resilient and capable of handling these things without getting off track. Matthew 5. 10  Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness,      for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 11  “Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. 12  Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you. Acts 5. 40  His speech persuaded them. They called the apostles in and had them flogged. Then they ordered them not to speak in the nam

11.16.17-Tribute to Dr. John Rich

11.16.17 Tribute to Dr. John Rich Tribute to the Great Physician A Great Physician, He is one who loves truth that is spoken with humility and hope. He is one who is honest about realities even those that are painful, but with hope for things to get better. He is one who can use self-control and self-discipline to use the mind and body to be excellent in what they do. He is one who can be loving and forgiving even when someone has said or done things wrong to him. He is one who loves to see the poor and weak uplifted. He is one who has the joy of life abounding in his heart. He is one who believes people by facing the truth and doing the best they can do can be helped by God and His servants. He is one who has confidence in honest, humble people, but has doubt that things can be fixed by institutions. He is one who enjoys friends and food. This is Jesus the Great Physician. But I found John Rich the same way.  John would be happy t

11.16-Be a teacher by a good example.

11.16- If you decide to be a follower of Jesus, you will automatically be a teacher by your words and your example.   You will want to tell your family of the mercy of God toward you.   How he saved you from your lostness and saved you.   How he showed the love of God by coming to earth and living a humble life of compassion and died on the cross to save us from our sins.   How He rose from the grave and ascended to heaven seated at the right hand of God and sent His Holy Spirit to be an inner guide in your conscience.   How He will come back and get us to take us home when our work is finished.   This you can tell your family, friends, children and grandchildren.   This has been God’s plan for education for a long time.   Education is not turned over to others.   It is 24/7/365 at home and everywhere for God’s children. Deuteronomy 6. 4  Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. [ a ] 5  Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and wi
