9.22-Jesus recruits broken people from broken families to be great teachers for Him.

9.22- We are broken.  Our family is broken.  Every human who is honest has failed to live up to being the best he/she could be.  The word for this in Jesus' teaching is that all men and women have sinned.  Some of hurt themselves and then broken their family.  Anyone who has a broken heart can be helped by Jesus.  This woman who had experienced several broken relationships was loved by Jesus.  She was not a Jew, she was a Samaritan.  Half Jew.  Half Gentile, non-new.  A mixed race.  In Jesus' day these were not liked by either the Jews or the Gentiles but Jesus loved her.  Men usually didn't talk to women in those days, but Jesus did love her with a pure love and did talk to her though she had quite a story. John 4. 7  There *came a woman of Samaria to draw water. Jesus *said to her, “Give Me a drink.” 8  For His disciples had gone away into the city to buy food. 9  Therefore the Samaritan woman *said to Him, “How is it that You, being a Jew, ask me for a drink since

9.21-Jesus is my spiritual water source. What does this mean?

9.21- Jesus Christ is my Savior.   He is my source.   He is the living water of my life.   He has given me great people to work with.   He has protected us from disasters day after day.   He has connected us with believers, truth seekers,   in Jesus all around the world.   We have strengthened each other day after day.    Our goals is to live a blameless life, but we fall short of our goal and try again.  We are thirsty for a life source that is filled with grace and truth.   Moses was a source of law, but grace and truth came to us through Jesus.   He fills us up daily with the Holy Spirit when we ask and receive.     Hopefully, we can be a spring of spiritual life giving water to others.   God’s grace, mercy and peace gushes out of Jesus into our hearts and hopefully, from ours into others. Grace and truth.   The truth to ourselves about ourselves requires a death to ourselves.   We must get over our fear of pain in our desire to grow spiritually.   Our life is like pla

9.19-Good people push us to be our best.

9.19- Once I had a good friend say to me, "Larry, you need to work the crowd less." Sitting with an excellent, successful I.T. professional yesterday I heard these words. "I remember my teacher Mrs. .....She heard me say, "I don't need to focus on these subjects in school. I am going to be a roofer like my dad." She said, "I don't know what you will do, but in my class I will push you to be all you can be. I will push you to go beyond the limits you place on yourself." He sai d she did that. He went on to the military, attend college and has become a great professional in the security industry as well an excellent student of history.  The best teachers want to challenge their students to push themselves to be the best they can be to enjoy a great life. God help me not to accept less than my personal best. John 10. 10  “Truly, truly, I say to you, he who does not enter by the door into the fold of the sheep, but cl

9.18-When Jesus is the guide of your life your have joy inside your heart

9.18-   you shall call His name Jesus, for [ w ] He will save His people from their sins.” Jesus fills my soul from the inside with joy that can fulfill my heart, but also cause me to have good humor and kindness with others. John 7. 37  Now on the last day, the great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, “ [ g ] If anyone is thirsty, [ h ] let him come to Me and drink. 38  He who believes in Me, as the Scripture said, ‘From [ i ] his innermost being will flow rivers of living water.’” 39  But this He spoke of the Spirit, whom those who believed in Him were to receive; for the Spirit was not yet given , because Jesus was not yet glorified. Acts 8. 25  So, when they had solemnly testified and spoken the word of the Lord, they started back to Jerusalem, and were preaching the gospel to many villages of the Samaritans. 26  But an angel of the Lord spoke to Philip saying, “Get up and go south to the road that descends from Jerusalem to Gaza.” ( [ h ] This is

9.20-We can renew ourselves with new thoughts.

9.20- We can get sick and tired of certain things day by day and yet in our heart and soul be renewed each day.   This requires the control of our mind.   We choose what we put our own mind on.   If we keep it growing with fresh new ideas then good things can come out of our mind.   If we choose to keep on thinking the same old things then we keep getting the same things.   To reset the expectation of our minds is important and available to us.   We get into thinking patterns and the old and comfortable way of thought that has not worked may be very tempting to us. John 4. 4  Therefore when the Lord knew that the Pharisees had heard that Jesus was making and baptizing more disciples than John 2  (although Jesus Himself was not baptizing, but His disciples were), 3  He left Judea and went away again into Galilee. 4  And He had to pass through Samaria. 5  So He *came to a city of Samaria called Sychar, near the parcel of ground that Jacob gave to his son Joseph; 6  and J
