8.6-We can choose our attitude. We can give God the gift of forgiving people.

8.6 Matthew 5. 5  When Jesus saw the crowds, He went up on the [ a ] mountain; and after He sat down, His disciples came to Him. 2  He opened His mouth and began to teach them, saying, 3  “ [ b ] Blessed are the [ c ] poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 4  “Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted. 5  “Blessed are the [ d ] gentle, for they shall inherit the earth. 6  “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied. 7  “Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy. 8  “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God. 9  “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God. 10  “Blessed are those who have been persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 11  “Blessed are you when people insult you and persecute you, and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of Me. 12  Rejoice and be glad, for your reward in heaven is

8.5-Don't worry about rejection. Jesus was too.

8.5 Luke 20 20  On one of the days while He was teaching the people in the temple and preaching the gospel, the chief priests and the scribes with the elders confronted Him , 2  and they spoke, saying to Him, “Tell us by what authority You are doing these things, or who is the one who gave You this authority?” 3  Jesus answered and said to them, “I will also ask you a [ a ] question, and you tell Me: 4  Was the baptism of John from heaven or from men?” 5  They reasoned among themselves, saying, “If we say, ‘From heaven,’ He will say, ‘Why did you not believe him?’ 6  But if we say, ‘From men,’ all the people will stone us to death, for they are convinced that John was a prophet.” 7  So they answered that they did not know where it came from. 8  And Jesus said to them, “Nor [ b ] will I tell you by what authority I do these things.” Parable of the Vine-growers 9  And He began to tell the people this parable: “A man planted a vineyard and rented it out to [ c ] vine-growe

8.4-We are not the first to live in a perverted generation. Jesus was in one. His answer. Prayer and fasting.

8.4- Matthew 17. 14  When they came to the crowd, a man came up to Jesus, falling on his knees before Him and saying, 15  “ [ f ] Lord, have mercy on my son, for he is a [ g ] lunatic and is very ill; for he often falls into the fire and often into the water. 16  I brought him to Your disciples, and they could not cure him.” 17  And Jesus answered and said, “You unbelieving and perverted generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I put up with you? Bring him here to Me.” 18  And Jesus rebuked him, and the demon came out of him, and the boy was cured [ h ] at once. 19  Then the disciples came to Jesus privately and said, “Why could we not drive it out?” 20  And He *said to them, “Because of the littleness of your faith; for truly I say to you, if you have faith [ i ] the size of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible to you. 21  [ [ j ] But this kind does not go out except by pr

8.3-Jesus ways were not to narrow or strict for the Father. They were pleasing to Him.

8.3- Matthew 17. 17  Six days later Jesus *took with Him Peter and [ a ] James and John his brother, and *led them up on a high mountain by themselves. 2  And He was transfigured before them; and His face shone like the sun, and His garments became as white as light. 3  And behold, Moses and Elijah appeared to them, talking with Him. 4  Peter said to Jesus, “Lord, it is good for us to be here; if You wish, I will make three [ b ] tabernacles here, one for You, and one for Moses, and one for Elijah.” 5  While he was still speaking, a bright cloud overshadowed them, and behold, a voice out of the cloud said, “This is My beloved Son, with whom I am well-pleased; listen to Him!” 6  When the disciples heard this , they fell [ c ] face down to the ground and were terrified. 7  And Jesus came to them and touched them and said, “Get up, and do not be afraid.” 8  And lifting up their eyes, they saw no one except Jesus Himself alone. 9  As they were coming down from the mountain, Jes

8.2- Mark 10. 10  Getting up, He *went from there to the region of Judea and beyond the Jordan; crowds *gathered around Him again, and, according to His custom, He once more began to teach them. 2  Some Pharisees came up to Jesus, testing Him, and began to question Him whether it was lawful for a man to [ a ] divorce a wife. 3  And He answered and said to them, “What did Moses command you?” 4  They said, “Moses permitted a man to write a certificate of divorce and [ b ] send her away .” 5  But Jesus said to them, “ [ c ] Because of your hardness of heart he wrote you this commandment. 6  But from the beginning of creation, God made them male and female . 7  For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother [ d ] , 8  and the two shall become one flesh ; so they are no longer two, but one flesh. 9  What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate.” 10  In the house the disciples began questioning Him about this again. 11  And He *said to them, “Wh

8.1-When we stand up for God we must not be ashamed. God can give us strength and deal with our enemies.

8.1- Mark 6. 6  Jesus went out from there and *came into [ a ] His hometown; and His disciples *followed Him. 2  When the Sabbath came, He began to teach in the synagogue; and the many listeners were astonished, saying, “Where did this man get these things, and what is this wisdom given to Him, and such [ b ] miracles as these performed by His hands? 3  Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, and brother of [ c ] James and Joses and Judas and Simon? Are not His sisters here with us?” And they took offense at Him. 4  Jesus said to them, “A prophet is not without honor except in [ d ] his hometown and among his own relatives and in his own household.” 5  And He could do no [ e ] miracle there except that He laid His hands on a few sick people and healed them. 6  And He wondered at their unbelief. And He was going around the villages teaching. The Twelve Sent Out 7  And He *summoned the twelve and began to send them out in pairs, and gave them authority over the uncle
