10.7-To be thankful for God's mercy adds healing and blessing to our joys in life. Sheila and I are so thankful to God for His blessings this month.  We have received His mercy and grace to celebrate life together.  We fall at the feet of Jesus to thank His name.  My journal entry today:   On Thursday, August 31, 2017 we celebrated the 50 th Anniversary of our Wedding Rehearsal Dinner in Amarillo, Texas on our way to Colorado Springs, Denver and Bayfield Colorado to Celebrate our 50 th with Colorado friends with whom we had experienced 33 of those years. We came home for 13 days and rested up a bit and headed back out for the second half of our 50 th Anniversary tour. On Friday, October 6 th about 6.20 P.M. we drove back into our garage after finishing our 50 th Anniversary tour with the second half of our trip to Atlanta, Cookeville, Pidgeon Forge and Gatlinburg Tennessee. In between these times we celebrated this milestone on FB, Instagram, Twitter, the Blog an

10.6- We must replace hate with love.

10.6- We must replace hate with love. Matthew 5. 43  “You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor [ i ] and hate your enemy.’ 44  But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, 45  that you may be children of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. 46  If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? 47  And if you greet only your own people, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that? 48  Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.

10.5- Our country is devestated because our families have been devastated.

10.5- If only we had loving and loyal family members.  We must pray for a renewal and revival in the hearts of the people of our devastated Nation. Matthew 5. 27  “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall not commit adultery.’ [ e ] 28  But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart. 29  If your right eye causes you to stumble, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell. 30  And if your right hand causes you to stumble, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to go into hell. Divorce 31  “It has been said, ‘Anyone who divorces his wife must give her a certificate of divorce.’ [ f ] 32  But I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, makes her the victim of adultery, and anyone who marries a divorced woman commits adulte

10.4 The basic problem of violence is the heart. It is not legislating rules for criminals. It's the heart.

10.4 We must get those who hate and foment hate in others to repent and change their heart. Matthew 5. 21  “You have heard that it was said to the people long ago, ‘You shall not murder, [ a ] and anyone who murders will be subject to judgment.’ 22  But I tell you that anyone who is angry with a brother or sister [ b ] [ c ] will be subject to judgment. Again, anyone who says to a brother or sister, ‘Raca,’ [ d ] is answerable to the court. And anyone who says, ‘You fool!’ will be in danger of the fire of hell. 23  “Therefore, if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother or sister has something against you, 24  leave your gift there in front of the altar. First go and be reconciled to them; then come and offer your gift. 25  “Settle matters quickly with your adversary who is taking you to court. Do it while you are still together on the way, or your adversary may hand you over to the judge, and the judge may hand you over to the office

10.3-How to be happy and blessed.

10.3- How to be happy and blessed. Matthew 5. 5  Now when Jesus saw the crowds, he went up on a mountainside and sat down. His disciples came to him, 2  and he began to teach them. The Beatitudes He said: 3  “Blessed are the poor in spirit,      for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 4  Blessed are those who mourn,      for they will be comforted. 5  Blessed are the meek,      for they will inherit the earth. 6  Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,      for they will be filled. 7  Blessed are the merciful,      for they will be shown mercy. 8  Blessed are the pure in heart,      for they will see God. 9  Blessed are the peacemakers,      for they will be called children of God. 10  Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness,      for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 11  “Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. 12  Rejoice and be glad, because great is your r

10.2-Satan is a murderer

10.2- God cannot lie. Satan lies.  He is the father of lies. Satan is a murderer. He tempts people to murder other people. This has been written about for 3,000 years and is still going on today. Genesis 3. 3  Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, “Did God really say, ‘You must not eat from any tree in the garden’?” 2  The woman said to the serpent, “We may eat fruit from the trees in the garden, 3  but God did say, ‘You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.’” 4  “You will not certainly die,” the serpent said to the woman. 5  “For God knows that when you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” Matthew 4. 4  Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted [ a ] by the devil. 2  After fasting forty days and forty nights, he was hungry. 3  The tempter cam

10.1, Good thoughts on hard days.

10.1 On this date in 1977 I made a big move from Dallas to Denver, Colorado. This move was a move from a time and place of strength and joy to another place of mystery, challenge and excitement. After a vacation trip through Denver in 1975 we had found ourselves drawn to want to move there and work there. We didn’t know exactly why, though the reasons why would become a bit more clear later. We had lived in Texas all our lives and received our education here and most all our family liv ed in the Lone Star state. We wanted to try the beautiful state of Colorado and the city of Denver. On August 4, 1978 we adopted our daughter, Amy, from Colorado Christian Service. That was one of the reasons we feel we moved to Denver. Our family history was changed forever. On this date in 1980 I made a big move to Abilene, Texas. This move was in a time when we felt overwhelmed in our lives. We were moving from a time of feeling disappointment to a time of healing and receiv
