5.13-The Value of a Fearless Mother

5.13-The Value of a Fearless Mother Remembering my mother, Cora Sue Wishard, on mother’s day, 2018. She journaled every day. It might be a list of how many eggs she got or a list of all the people who came over after church to play “42”. It was a record of her activities more than a record of her feelings about things that happened. She would register there when she was lonely or sad which happened usually when the kids and grandkids left to go home. She was a room mother for her four children and loved to attend their school plays and sports events. All of her children played sports in high school. Kids, grandkids and great great grandkids have played high school and even college sports. She wanted to be a fun-loving host. This she did. Showers, she had many in her home, but helped to sponsor many others to celebrate marriage and babies. Over and over with a variety of family and friends in a variety of ways. Reunions. Drop by folks who would grace

5.12-What Made Jesus mad

5.12- Mark 11.1-26 11  As they *approached Jerusalem, at Bethphage and Bethany, near the Mount of Olives, He *sent two of His disciples, 2  and *said to them, “Go into the village opposite you, and immediately as you enter it, you will find a colt tied there , on which no one yet has ever sat; untie it and bring it here . 3  If anyone says to you, ‘Why are you doing this?’ you say, ‘The Lord has need of it’; and immediately he [ a ] will send it back here.” 4  They went away and found a colt tied at the door, outside in the street; and they *untied it. 5  Some of the bystanders were saying to them, “What are you doing, untying the colt?” 6  They spoke to them just as Jesus had told them , and they gave them permission. 7  They *brought the colt to Jesus and put their coats on it; and He sat on it. 8  And many spread their coats in the road, and others spread leafy branches which they had cut from the fields. 9  Those who went in front and those who followed were

5.11-Pray and don't lose heart.

5.11- Luke 18.1-8 18  Now He was telling them a parable to show that at all times they ought to pray and not to lose heart, 2  saying, “In a certain city there was a judge who did not fear God and did not respect man. 3  There was a widow in that city, and she kept coming to him, saying, ‘ [ a ] Give me legal protection from my opponent.’ 4  For a while he was unwilling; but afterward he said to himself, ‘Even though I do not fear God nor respect man, 5  yet because this widow bothers me, I will [ b ] give her legal protection, otherwise by continually coming she will [ c ] wear me out.’” 6  And the Lord said, “Hear what the unrighteous judge *said; 7  now, will not God bring about justice for His elect who cry to Him day and night, [ d ] and will He delay long over them? 8  I tell you that He will bring about justice for them quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will He find [ e ] faith on the earth?”

5.10-The power of boldness and persistence

5.10- Luke 11.1-13 11  It happened that while [ a ] Jesus was praying in a certain place, after He had finished, one of His disciples said to Him, “Lord, teach us to pray just as John also taught his disciples.” 2  And He said to them, “When you pray, say: ‘ [ b ] Father, hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. 3  ‘Give us each day our [ c ] daily bread. 4  ‘And forgive us our sins, For we ourselves also forgive everyone who is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation.’” 5  Then He said to them, “ [ d ] Suppose one of you has a friend, and goes to him at midnight and says to him, ‘Friend, lend me three loaves; 6  for a friend of mine has come to me from a journey, and I have nothing to set before him’; 7  and from inside he answers and says, ‘Do not bother me; the door has already been shut and my children [ e ] and I are in bed; I cannot get up and give you anything .’ 8  I tell you, even though he will not get up and give him anything because he is
