9.21-You are not defined by what other people think of you. You are defined by God only.

9.21- I'm a child of God because He says I am John 1. 11  He came to His [ h ] own, and those who were His own did not receive Him. 12  But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name, 13  who were [ i ] born, not of [ j ] blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God. Who am I that the highest King Would welcome me? I was lost but He brought me in Oh His love for me Oh His love for me Who the Son sets free Oh is free indeed I'm a child of God Yes I am Free at last, He has ransomed me His grace runs deep While I was a slave to sin Jesus died for me Yes He died for me Who the Son sets free Oh is free indeed I'm a child of God Yes I am In my Father's house There's a place for me I'm a child of God Yes I am I am chosen Not forsaken I am who You say I am You are for me Not against me I am who You say I am I am chosen Not forsaken I am who You say I a

9.20-Pursue contentment and perserverence.

9.20- Steady consistency has it's impact. My brother in law and sister, Bill and Hazanne Luttrell have lived in the same city, Abilene for many years and made many good friends. As we were visiting this week they mentioned that the number of their family circle is up to 35. Wow! Their children Lynn, Mike, Suzanne, Keith and Shannon are all teachers. Many of their in laws and grandkids are also teachers. All of them have a fun, joyful attitude as a big part of their impact for good. Steady work has it's impact. Mike has demonstrated this by having his school picture at the Irving school district taken with the same shirt and tie for many years. I think I counted 30 years. There is a snowball effect of Being There. Ability begins with availability. 1 Timothy 6. 3  If anyone advocates a different doctrine and does not [ d ] agree with sound words, those of our Lord Jesus Christ, and with the doctrine conforming to godliness, 4  he is conceited and und

9.19-We all have good and important work to do for all of our lives. No retirement into uselessness.

9.19- Our mission is to make and grow disciples of Jesus.  This is worthy work.  There is no retirement from this work.  People need to know that God loves them and will forgive them and give them a fresh start. Luke 24. 44  Now He said to them, “These are My words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all things which are written about Me in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms must be fulfilled.” 45  Then He opened their [ p ] minds to understand the Scriptures, 46  and He said to them, “Thus it is written, that the [ q ] Christ would suffer and rise again from the dead the third day, 47  and that repentance [ r ] for forgiveness of sins would be proclaimed [ s ] in His name to all the nations, beginning from Jerusalem. 48  You are witnesses of these things. 49  And behold, I am sending forth the promise of My Father upon you; but you are to stay in the city until you are clothed with power from on high.”

9.18-Do we have hands and feet after death in the after life? Can we eat?

9.18- Do we have hands and feet after death in the after life?  Can we eat? I say, "Yes." The Bible teaches that we will be like Him. Philippians 3. 20  For our [ m ] citizenship is in heaven, from which also we eagerly wait for a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ; 21  who will transform [ n ] the body of our humble state into conformity with [ o ] the body of His glory , by the exertion of the power that He has even to subject all things to Himself. Luke 24. 36  While they were telling these things, He Himself stood in their midst and *said to them, “Peace be to you.” 37  But they were startled and frightened and thought that they were seeing a spirit. 38  And He said to them, “Why are you troubled, and why do doubts arise in your [ n ] hearts? 39  See My hands and My feet, that it is I Myself; touch Me and see, for a spirit does not have flesh and bones as you see that I have.” 40  And when He had said this, He showed them His hands and His feet. 41  While they

9.17-What is the purpose of Scripture?

9.17- Old Testament Scripture is  given to us to point us to Jesus Christ as the son of God. Luke 24. 31  Then their eyes were opened and they recognized Him; and He vanished from [ j ] their sight. 32  They said to one another, “ [ k ] Were not our hearts burning within us while He was speaking to us on the road, while He was [ l ] explaining the Scriptures to us ?” 33  And they got up that very hour and returned to Jerusalem, and found gathered together the eleven and those who were with them, 34  saying, “The Lord has really risen and has appeared to Simon.” 35  They began to relate [ m ] their experiences on the road and how He was recognized by them in the breaking of the bread. Other Appearances 36  While they were telling these things, He Himself stood in their midst and *said to them, “Peace be to you.” 37  But they were startled and frightened and thought that they were seeing a spirit. 38  And He said to them, “Why are you troubled, and why do doubts arise in

9.16-The education noboy wants.

9.16- Learning comes through suffering.  We learn not to touch a hot stove by touching it.  We learn to trust God be going through times when we walked away from Him and got into deep pain and trouble to our heart and soul.  Even people who are innocent of sin must learn through suffering. Hebrews 5.8 7  [ c ] In the days of His flesh, [ d ] He offered up both prayers and supplications with loud crying and tears to the One able to save Him [ e ] from death, and He [ f ] was heard because of His piety. 8  Although He was a Son, He learned obedience from the things which He suffered. Luke 24. 24  Some of those who were with us went to the tomb and found it just exactly as the women also had said; but Him they did not see.” 25  And He said to them, “O foolish men and slow of heart to believe in all that the prophets have spoken! 26  Was it not necessary for the [ f ] Christ to suffer these things and to enter into His glory?” 27  Then beginning [ g ] with Moses and [ h ] wit

9.15-Good news. You can live forever in freedom from suffering and pain with God in love and joy.

9.15- Human beings are slow of heart to believe good news.  Good news life doesn't have to end at death.  We can live forever free of suffering, mourning and pain and live with the God of life and love and joy.  We can be adopted as children of God.  All we have to do is to have faith in God and listen to Him and trust Him and walk with Him.  Luke 24. 28  And they approached the village where they were going, and He acted as though He were going farther. 29  But they urged Him, saying, “Stay with us, for it is getting toward evening, and the day [ i ] is now nearly over.” So He went in to stay with them. 30  When He had reclined at the table with them, He took the bread and blessed it , and breaking it , He began giving it to them. 31  Then their eyes were opened and they recognized Him; and He vanished from [ j ] their sight. 32  They said to one another, “ [ k ] Were not our hearts burning within us while He was speaking to us on the road, while He was [ l ] explain
