Refreshing Our Spirits With Scripture

9.22- God actually changes our identity when we become His child. John 14. 16  And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever— 17  the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be [ c ] in you. 18  I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. 19  Before long, the world will not see me anymore, but you will see me. Because I live, you also will live. 20  On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you. 2 Corinthians 5. 16  So from now on we regard no one from a worldly point of view. Though we once regarded Christ in this way, we do so no longer. 17  Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: [ a ] The old has gone, the new is here!  

9.21- God has given me many great friends and for this I am thankful.  Still, there is a limitation to my friends and what they can do to help me. Sometimes they have their limits to understanding what I need.  I need to have a relationship with God who gave me these friends and He will always know what I need and be able to deliver it to me. Psalm 69 Psalm 69 [ a ] For the director of music. To the tune of “Lilies.” Of David. 1  Save me, O God,      for the waters have come up to my neck. 2  I sink in the miry depths,      where there is no foothold. I have come into the deep waters;      the floods engulf me. 3  I am worn out calling for help;      my throat is parched. My eyes fail,      looking for my God. 4  Those who hate me without reason      outnumber the hairs of my head; many are my enemies without cause,      those who seek to destroy me. I am forced to restore      what I did not steal. 5  You, God, know my folly;      my guilt is not hidden from you.

9.20- I grew up in a family where children were taken to funerals and the explanation of what happens to Christians at death is often explained before or after the funeral service.  I grew up in America in a part of America called by some "The Bible Belt"  There are many churches who teach the Bible to their children and have answers interesting questions. What happens when a Christian dies? Good Question. The best answer it seems to me is found in John 14. John 14. Jesus Comforts His Disciples 14  “Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God [ a ] ; believe also in me. 2  My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? 3  And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. 4  You know the way to the place where I am going.” Life is short.  Whether you live to be 33 as Jesus did or 70 or 80 as mentioned

9.19- A prayer to God God please build me a son. One who knows his stuff. One who is reliable. One who is smart as a whip, but good natured with it. One who isn’t afraid to go it alone, but knows the joy of having a few close friends. One who is known for speaking the truth without embellishing. One who is strong when needed and weak when needed. One who knows the difference between deeds and dreams without giving up on his best dreams. One who knows himself and so can really know others. One who does not expect of others what he does not expect of himself. One who does not take himself too seriously, but takes life seriously. If you do this God I will be happy and thankful. I am happy and thankful. On 9.19.1967 at about at 5.pm in Greenville, Texas God came through and with Sheila’s sacrifice our amazing son, Jeff, was born. 9.18- Do you know? Maybe you are thinking that things are out of control because all the world leaders are foolish.  Thankfully, they are not in control.  God is. Isaiah 40. 21  Do you not know?      Have you not heard? Has it not been told you from the beginning?      Have you not understood since the earth was founded? 22  He sits enthroned above the circle of the earth,      and its people are like grasshoppers. 9.17- From a Newspaper in Spokane, WA. This week I read a story about a young man, Sam Strahan, who was loved by his father. He was blunt. He got on some people’s nerves. His earthly father had died. He was a wonderful young man who had his father’s unending commitment. He was a happy spirit and inspiring to others around him. A shooter came into the school in Freeman WA. and this young man confronted the student who was shooting his fellow students. The gunman shot him in the stomach and the face and killed him. He was a true hero and incredible soul. The article also added that he was very close to his father who had recently passed. He loved and watched out his mother and family.  John 10. 14 “I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me— 15 just as the Father knows me and I know the Father—and I lay down my life for the sheep. 16 I have other sheep that are not of this sheep pen.
