Freedom's just another word....

Day of Year: 131
Date:5.11.14
Favorite Verse: Mark 5.4,15
because he had often been bound with shackles and chains, and the chains had been torn apart by him and the shackles broken in pieces, and no one was strong enough to subdue him.

15 They *came to Jesus and *observed the man who had been demon-possessed sitting down, clothed and in his right mind, the very man who had had the “legion”; and they became frightened.

Thought for the day:
What is freedom?  What is being shackled?  Was the man free when he did what he wanted regardless of the impact on other people?  No.  He was free when on the inside he could say "No" to that which was destructive to himself and others.  This is true freedom.

Janis Joplin sang the words to the song "Me and Bobby McGhee".  "Freedom's just another word for nothing left to do.  Freedom ain't worth nothin' but its free."

Our culture today has no idea of the real meaning of freedom.

"Act as free men, do not use your freedom as a covering for evil, but use it as bondslaves of God."
