Imagine a more beautiful America

From time to time in the early morning my imagination runs away with me.

I imagined that some men and women were thinking and praying about our country getting off track on some basic items.  Things that relate to the health and well being of children and the moral direction of the leaders of our country.  I imagined that some people who follow Jesus wanted to be a salt and light to their nation and so gathered for prayer regarding what to do to help the nation.  They wrote down some important directions they wanted to pray toward.

This became the platform of a major group of people who were trying to lead the nation.

There was more prayer and through the providence of God a very famous man stepped forward to say he would be willing to lead the nation if the nation saw fit.  He was a very strong man in some ways, but very flawed in other ways.  He was picked by the nation to lead a major party.  He was later picked by the nation to be the next leader.

46% of the nation did not even vote.  About half wanted him and about half did not.  Due to the rules of the nation this man who had been drawn to the work was the selection of the nation by a large majority of the states in the nation.

I imagined something else.

I imagined that people in the other major political party in America were very devastated by their loss.  The President, both houses of congress, most of the governorships and houses in the states were won by the opposing party.  This party that was taken out of leadership decided to do something radical.

They decided to study the basic playbook of the religious people who had influenced the last election.  The Bible. Their effort was to see the underlying principles of the people involved in the Christian, Evangelical and Fundamental groups who had been a “under the radar” influence on the election.

In the process they realigned their platform to say that the first thing they would demand of all their leaders is that they would be good family men and women.  Loyal to God and loyal to their families.  They would be men and women of high character and integrity.

Next they decided that they would look deeply at the basic principles that had informed the founding documents of the country.  The declaration of independence and the constitution and amendments.  They asked what principles of respect for human life and all humans needed to be written in their platform.

Since most all leaders in America had said they were Christians, they decided that the year of 2017 would be a year of studying the life of Jesus Christ.  In the process they decided to give up winning by typical political means of trading away the truth for money and power.  They as a group decided they would win with truth and love for opponents or not at all.

The year 2018 they opened the door to have people of all types to join them in meeting together for prayer and discussion on a weekly basis.  Every zip code had a group to gather and pray and give input to this group hoping for a new path forward that honored all people.  Rich and poor.  Women and men. Old and young. Democrat, Republican and Independent. They would strive to understand more than be understood.  The group grew spiritually strong in 2018.

Their platform.

They would try to lead the nation to treat all people with love and dignity.

All laws would be looked at regarding what is good for the children.

The poor would be given a hand up.

No more taxes than were necessary would be collected.

Human life from the womb to the tomb was to be honored.

Not treatment of anyone that was not according to the golden rule.

The founding documents would be respected for guidance.

In 2019 they begin to pray for someone to offer to run for President.  These people stepped forward. 

One was a representative from Houston, two were ministers from Houston, one was a community organizer from Pennysylania and one was a community builder from Dallas.  One was a magazine editor from Washington D.C. One was a pastor from a millennial church in Atlanta and finally a pastor from a mega church in Los Angeles.

They would all have open discussions together with love and support for each other as the Democratic primary took place. There was some objection because the leading candidate was not even a Democrat.

Everyone on the list was not a politician.  They were people who had not made their life or living from the government in the past and had never run for office.

In 2020 there were primaries and a general election.

After the election of the primaries there was a surprising winner.

She ran in the general election with no one believing it was possible for her to be elected.

She won.

After 2020. Things were never the same.  The party that had been in power lost and decided to go back to the playbook to find even better ways to help people.  Things continued to get better and as time moved forward it seems that the beauty of heaven seemed to inform the growth so that the nation became more free and more beautiful.  The citizens grew in their love for the down and out in their country and around the world.
