12.7-What to hold on and what to let go of.

12.7-

Temporary. Humans die.

Joy of lovely buildings. They look nice and new and then need repair.    Don't think you can hold to beautiful house, but you can hold on to God who shows you how to live in a big house or a small house.

Permanent relationships.  Hold on to faith and a good conscience.  Live without regret. Be loyal.
1 Timothy 1.

18 Timothy, my son, I am giving you this command in keeping with the prophecies once made about you, so that by recalling them you may fight the battle well, 19 holding on to faith and a good conscience, which some have rejected and so have suffered shipwreck with regard to the faith. 20 Among them are Hymenaeus and Alexander, whom I have handed over to Satan to be taught not to blaspheme.

Never give up on putting God first.
Acts 4.
18 Then they called them in again and commanded them not to speak or teach at all in the name of Jesus. 19 But Peter and John replied, “Which is right in God’s eyes: to listen to you, or to him? You be the judges! 20 As for us, we cannot help speaking about what we have seen and heard.”
Important institutions including nations are not permanent.  Nations come and go.  Seek God’s kingdom first.  Be willing to suffer.

Never give up on trusting God, your Father in heaven, who will never die and leave you.
Never give up on Jesus, our defense attorney.

1 John 2
My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have an advocate with the Father—Jesus Christ, the Righteous One. He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world.
