Counting Hairs
Counting Hairs
Yesterday I went to my barber, Kim, at Uptown Barber shop in
Arlington. In about 30-45 minutes she
put about 10,000 clippings of Sheila’s and my hair on the floor. I said “about” because I didn’t count them
and
God didn’t tell me how many there were.
This morning I discovered a great text from Jesus that topped
off my spiritual tanks.
Matthew 25.19-21 “After a long absence, the master of those
three servants came back and settled up with them. The one given five thousand
dollars showed him how he had doubled his investment. His master commended him:
‘Good work! You did your job well. From now on be my partner.’ (The
Message)
What could be greater than to partner with The Master of the
Universe? Nothing.
Yes, but how I ask?
1. Trust God as being generous and anxious to
answer prayers “Yes.”
2.
Get busy doing good deeds.
3.
I must do this as much as possible in
secret. No one should know.
God is in the work of helping the hungry and thirsty. When
we serve food or drink to those who need it, we are partnering with God. I will look around today and if I can find
someone needing some shoes or clothing, I will provide what they need.
What if you I don’t have any extra money to provide these things?
We can notice people and partner with God. Jesus taught that there is not a sparrow that
falls to the ground that God does not notice. He also taught that no one hair falls from
our heads without His awareness of it.
God is infinitely mindful. So
when I meet people on the path of my life today, I will be mindful of
them.
When I see them, I will pray that
they receive God’s blessing through me or someone else. I will greet them or just smile at them. I will be open to learn how I can actually be
hospitable to everyone I meet. God loves
everyone and if I partner with God, I will love everyone as well. Once when trying to remind His followers to
not be bullied by life, Jesus helped us by telling us the mindfulness of
God toward us all.
Matthew 10:29-31
[ Forget About Yourself ] “What’s the price of a pet canary?
Some loose change, right? And God cares what happens to it even more than you
do. He pays even greater attention to you, down to the last detail—even
numbering the hairs on your head! So don’t be intimidated by all this bully
talk. You’re worth more than a million canaries.
Matthew 25.
