12.17- Be merciful to yourself

12.17-

Joanna Lemmons is a grad student in counseling and had this on her FB that I liked.

To the person to failed today...
To the mom who yelled at her kids after too many hours of bickering and chaos.
It's ok.
To the dad who stayed too long at the office and came home barking out orders to an already overwhelmed mom and attention deprived kids.
It's ok.
To the single parent who burned dinner and couldn't get the kids a bath before bed.
It's ok.
To the person who spent another day searching for a job and still went home wondering how the bills are going to be paid.
It's ok.
To the person who didn't go job searching because it's easier to just forget about it for just a little while.
It's ok.
To the drug addict who went back for more.
It's ok.
To the alcoholic who relapsed.
It's ok.
To the person who threw the diet out the window and ate the whole cake.
It's ok.
To the spouse who let down their partner.
It's ok.
To the spouse who let down their partner. Again.
It's ok.
To the family drowning in debt but went out for pizza tonight anyway.
It's ok.
To the estranged family who went another day without reaching out to their loved one.
It's ok.
To the person who is tormented by things they did in their past.
It's ok.
To everyone who is trying.
It's ok.
Take a deep breath.
Give yourself some grace.
And try again tomorrow.
Jesus said,
Luke 6.
36 [u]Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.
37 “Do not judge, and you will not be judged; and do not condemn, and you will not be condemned; [v]pardon, and you will be pardoned.
