Refreshing Our Spirits With Scripture

 1.24.25- There many times that something appears to be a bad thing, like Joseph thrown into a pit or Paul thrown into prison, that it is used to provide special advancements. A set back is a set forward with faith in God who is love. Genesis 45 4  Then Joseph said to his brothers, “Please come  [ c ] closer to me.” And they came  [ d ] closer. And he said, “I am your brother Joseph, whom you sold to Egypt.   5  Now do not be grieved or angry  [ e ] with yourselves because you sold me here, for God sent me ahead of you  [ f ] to save lives.   6  For the famine  has been  in the land these two years, and there are still five years in which there will be neither plowing nor harvesting.   7  So God sent me ahead of you to ensure for you a remnant on the earth, and to  [ g ] keep you alive by a great deliverance.  

1.23.25- The garden of Eden was perfect before humans made bad choices and thorns and thistles came in. The vision of the future includes a new heaven and new earth where only perfect beauty and perfect joy exist without any mourning and death. God's best for his children through the grace and mercy of the cross and the resurrection gives great hope to me today. Genesis 1 6  Then God said, “Let there be  [ e ] an expanse in the midst of the waters, and let it separate the waters from the waters.”   7  God made the  [ f ] expanse, and separated the waters that were below the  [ g ] expanse from the waters that were above the  [ h ] expanse; and it was so.   8  God called the  [ i ] expanse “heaven.” And there was evening and there was morning, a second day. 9  Then God said, “Let the waters below the heavens be gathered into one place, and let the dry land appear”; and it was so.   10  And God called the...

 1.22- What is it? The poorest man might have more than the rich. Money cannot buy it. Everyone has some. It can be wasted or cherished. Today I will use it wisely. It is time. None will be spent worry. None on resentment, bitterness and unforgiveness, knowing that these destroy their container. I will use It to forgive and be grateful. Time more precious than gold. Colossians 4 5  [ cs ] Conduct yourselves with wisdom toward  outsiders,  [ ct ] making the most of the opportunity.

 1.21- The teacher said that his followers are citizens of a different kind of kingdom. A spiritiual kingdom that will reign forever and ever and where there is no change of leader, He is its leader now and forever and forever will be. Our citizenship is in heaven and he is such a king of kings and Lord of lords that all should bow to him now and one day all will bow. We pray for his kingdom to come to earth as it is in heaven. Such love and peace and order and joy we seek every day we live. Matthew 6 9  “Pray, then, in this way: ‘Our Father, who is in heaven, [ d ] Hallowed be Your name. 10  [ e ] Your kingdom come. Your will be done, [ f ] On earth as it is in heaven. 11  Give us this day  [ g ] our daily bread. 12  And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. 13  And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from  [ h ] evil. [ i ] ’

 1.20 Our country has the blessing of the peaceful transfer of power which happens after every presidential electiion. Again yesterday President Biden was moved out and Trump moved in in a period of about five hours. Each time when this happens in a peace and orderly way I believe it is an answer to the prayers of many for our nation. Philippians 3 17  Brothers  and sisters , join in following my example, and observe those who walk according to the pattern you have in us.   18  For many walk, of whom I often told you, and now tell you even as I weep,  that they are  the enemies of the cross of Christ,   19  whose end is destruction, whose god is  their   [ k ] appetite, and  whose  glory is in their shame, who have their minds on earthly things.   20  For our  [ l ] citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ;  ...

1.19.25 How to feel secure in life. Remember Psalm 23 The  Lord  is my shepherd, I will not be in need. 2  He lets me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside  [ a ] quiet waters. 3  He restores my soul; He guides me in the  [ b ] paths of righteousness For the sake of His name. 4  Even though I walk through the  [ c ] valley of the shadow of death, I fear no  [ d ] evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. 5  You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You  [ e ] have anointed my head with oil; My cup overflows. 6  [ f ] Certainly goodness and  [ g ] faithfulness will follow me all the days of my life, And my dwelling  will be  in the house of the  Lord   [ h ] forever.  

 1.18.25-Love is... 1 Cor. 13 4  Love is patient, love is kind, it is not jealous; love does not brag, it is not arrogant.   5  It does not act disgracefully, it does not seek its own  benefit ; it is not provoked, does not keep an account of a wrong  suffered ,   6  it does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth;   7  it  [ b ] keeps every confidence, it believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
