5.14-The interest of God are on extending His mercy to people in need. This involves overcoming the fear of suffering.

Mark 8. 27  Jesus went out, along with His disciples, to the villages of Caesarea Philippi; and on the way He questioned His disciples, saying to them, “Who do people say that I am?” 28  They told Him, saying, “John the Baptist; and others say Elijah; but others, one of the prophets.” 29  And He continued by questioning them, “But who do you say that I am?” Peter *answered and *said to Him, “You are [ q ] the Christ.” 30  And He [ r ] warned them to tell no one about Him. 31  And He began to teach them that the Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders and the chief priests and the scribes, and be killed, and after three days rise again. 32  And He was stating the matter plainly. And Peter took Him aside and began to rebuke Him. 33  But turning around and seeing His disciples, He rebuked Peter and *said, “Get behind Me, Satan; for you are not setting your mind on [ s ] God’s interests, but man’s.” 34  And He ...

5.13-Jesus is the exact representation of God in a body He had compassion. He cares for the poor and hungry.

Mark 8. 8  In those days, when there was again a large crowd and they had nothing to eat, Jesus called His disciples and *said to them, 2  “I feel compassion for the [ a ] people because they have remained with Me now three days and have nothing to eat. 3  If I send them away hungry to their homes, they will faint on the way; and some of them have come from a great distance.” 4  And His disciples answered Him, “Where will anyone be able to find enough [ b ] bread here in this desolate place to satisfy these people?” 5  And He was asking them, “How many loaves do you have?” And they said, “Seven.” 6  And He *directed the [ c ] people to [ d ] sit down on the ground; and taking the seven loaves, He gave thanks and broke them, and started giving them to His disciples to [ e ] serve to them, and they served them to the [ f ] people. 7  They also had a few small fish; and after He had blessed them, He ordered these to be [ g ] served as well. 8...

5.12-Our problem is between our ears often. At times be located elsewhere but often its the man in the mirror.

Mark 7. 14  After He called the crowd to Him again, He began saying to them, “Listen to Me, all of you, and understand: 15  there is nothing outside the man which can defile him if it goes into him; but the things which proceed out of the man are what defile the man. 16  [ [ f ] If anyone has ears to hear, let him hear.” ] 17  When he had left the crowd and entered the house, His disciples questioned Him about the parable. 18  And He *said to them, “Are you so lacking in understanding also? Do you not understand that whatever goes into the man from outside cannot defile him, 19  because it does not go into his heart, but into his stomach, and [ g ] is eliminated?” ( Thus He declared all foods clean.) 20  And He was saying, “That which proceeds out of the man, that is what defiles the man. 21  For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed the evil thoughts, [ h ] fornications, thefts, murders, adulteries, 22  deeds of coveti...

5.11-Where Jesus is not welcomed. Where His teachings are known and rejected we must pray and move on.

Mark 6. 7  And He *summoned the twelve and began to send them out in pairs, and gave them authority over the unclean spirits; 8  and He instructed them that they should take nothing for their journey, except a mere staff—no bread, no [ f ] bag, no money in their belt— 9  but [ g ] to wear sandals; and He added , “Do not put on two [ h ] tunics.” 10  And He said to them, “Wherever you enter a house, stay there until you [ i ] leave town. 11  Any place that does not receive you or listen to you, as you go out from there, shake the dust [ j ] off the soles of your feet for a testimony against them.” 12  They went out and [ k ] preached that men should repent. 13  And they were casting out many demons and were anointing with oil many sick people and healing them. Psalm 90. 13  Do return, O Lord ; how long will it be ? And [ p ] be sorry for Your servants. 14  O satisfy us in the morning with Your lovingkindness, That we may sing fo...

Better than 2 Corinthians is 1 Corinthians. Left wing correctness. Right wing correctness versus Jesus correctness

God help me to not try to be left wing correct. Or Right wing correct. but Jesus correct. To have compassion on all people. To offer grace and truth. Grace to enjoy the love of our Father in heaven who never gives up on His children. Truth to put up guardrails for my life and family to keep people from harm to themselves and others. In Jesus Name. Amen. Right wing power fails.  Left wing power fails.  Love never fails. 1 Corinthians  13  If I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but do not have love, I have become a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. 2  If I have the gift of prophecy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge; and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. 3  And if I give all my possessions to feed the poor , and if I surrender my body [ a ] to be burned, but do not have love, it profits me nothing. 4  Love is patient, love is kind and is not jealous; love does not brag...

5.10-Don't be surprised that people discount you. Get your inner value from God not people even your own family.

Mark 6. 6  Jesus went out from there and *came into [ a ] His hometown; and His disciples *followed Him. 2  When the Sabbath came, He began to teach in the synagogue; and the many listeners were astonished, saying, “Where did this man get these things, and what is this wisdom given to Him, and such [ b ] miracles as these performed by His hands? 3  Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, and brother of [ c ] James and Joses and Judas and Simon? Are not His sisters here with us?” And they took offense at Him. 4  Jesus said to them, “A prophet is not without honor except in [ d ] his hometown and among his own relatives and in his own household.” 5  And He could do no [ e ] miracle there except that He laid His hands on a few sick people and healed them. 6  And He wondered at their unbelief. And He was going around the villages teaching. Psalm 90 13  Do return, O Lord ; how long will it be ? And [ p ] be sorry for Your servants. 14...

5.9-God's temple according to Jesus is everywhere people need help. God is love. His religion is helping them anywhere and anytime.

Mark 6. 53  When they had crossed over they came to land at Gennesaret, and moored to the shore. 54  When they got out of the boat, immediately the people recognized Him, 55  and ran about that whole country and began to carry here and there on their pallets those who were sick, to [ ab ] the place they heard He was. 56  Wherever He entered villages, or cities, or countryside, they were laying the sick in the market places, and imploring Him that they might just touch the fringe of His cloak; and as many as touched it were being cured. Psalm 90. Lord, You have been our [ b ] dwelling place in all generations. 2  Before the mountains were born [ c ] Or You gave birth to the earth and the world, Even from everlasting to everlasting, You are God. 3  You turn man back into dust And say, “Return, O children of men.” 4  For a thousand years in Your sight Are like yesterday when it passes by, [ d ] Or as a watch in the night. 5  You have [...

5.8-When struggling with a decision get alone and pray. Listen to God in memory and nature and your soul.

Mark 6. 45  Immediately Jesus made His disciples get into the boat and go ahead of Him to the other side to Bethsaida, while He Himself was sending the crowd away. 46  After bidding them farewell, He left for the mountain to pray. 47  When it was evening, the boat was in the middle of the sea, and He was alone on the land. 48  Seeing them [ w ] straining at the oars, for the wind was against them, at about the [ x ] fourth watch of the night He *came to them, walking on the sea; and He intended to pass by them. 49  But when they saw Him walking on the sea, they supposed that it was a ghost, and cried out; 50  for they all saw Him and were [ y ] terrified. But immediately He spoke with them and *said to them, “Take courage; it is I, do not be afraid.” 51  Then He got into the boat with them, and the wind stopped; and they were utterly astonished, 52  for they [ z ] had not gained any insight from the incident of the loaves, but [ aa ] th...

5.7-God wants the hungry to be fed. Are we willing to be His hands and feet to do it?

Mark 6. 33  The people saw them going, and many recognized them and ran there together on foot from all the cities, and got there ahead of them. 34  When Jesus went [ q ] ashore, He saw a large crowd, and He felt compassion for them because they were like sheep without a shepherd; and He began to teach them many things. 35  When it was already quite late, His disciples came to Him and said, “ [ r ] This place is desolate and it is already quite late; 36  send them away so that they may go into the surrounding countryside and villages and buy themselves [ s ] something to eat.” 37  But He answered them, “You give them something to eat!” And they *said to Him, “Shall we go and spend two hundred [ t ] denarii on bread and give them something to eat?” 38  And He *said to them, “How many loaves do you have? Go look!” And when they found out, they *said, “Five, and two fish.” 39  And He commanded them all to [ u ] sit down by groups on the green...

5.6-Marriage from God's perspective is very important and teaching God's view is worth imprisonment and death.

Mark 6. 14  And King Herod heard of it , for His name had become well known; and people were saying, “John the Baptist has risen from the dead, and that is why these miraculous powers are at work in Him.” 15  But others were saying, “He is Elijah.” And others were saying, “ He is a prophet, like one of the prophets of old .” 16  But when Herod heard of it , he kept saying, “John, whom I beheaded, has risen!” 17  For Herod himself had sent and had John arrested and bound in prison on account of Herodias, the wife of his brother Philip, because he had married her. 18  For John had been saying to Herod, “It is not lawful for you to have your brother’s wife.” 19  Herodias had a grudge against him and wanted to put him to death and could not do so ; 20  for Herod was afraid of John, knowing that he was a righteous and holy man, and he kept him safe. And when he heard him, he was very perplexed; [ l ] but he [ m ] used to enjoy listening to him. ...

5.5-If you want to live the Jesus lifestyle we must remember it is meant to be a simple people helping life.

Mark 6. 7-8  Jesus called the Twelve to him, and sent them out in pairs. He gave them authority and power to deal with the evil opposition. He sent them off with these instructions: 8-9  “Don’t think you need a lot of extra equipment for this. You are the equipment. No special appeals for funds. Keep it simple. 10  “And no luxury inns. Get a modest plac hee and be content there until you leave. 11  “If you’re not welcomed, not listened to, quietly withdraw. Don’t make a scene. Shrug your shoulders and be on your way.” 12-13  Then they were on the road. They preached with joyful urgency that life can be radically different; right and left they sent the demons packing; they brought wellness to the sick, anointing their bodies, healing their spirits. Psalm 89. A long time ago you spoke in a vision,      you spoke to your faithful beloved: “I’ve crowned a hero,      I chose the best I could find; I found David...

5.4-Don't let your value be set by people, even famly and hometown. Let God set your value. He gave His Son for you.

Mark 6. 6  1-2  He left there and returned to his hometown. His disciples came along. On the Sabbath, he gave a lecture in the meeting place. He made a real hit, impressing everyone. “We had no idea he was this good!” they said. “How did he get so wise all of a sudden, get such ability?” 3  But in the next breath they were cutting him down: “He’s just a carpenter—Mary’s boy. We’ve known him since he was a kid. We know his brothers, James, Justus, Jude, and Simon, and his sisters. Who does he think he is?” They tripped over what little they knew about him and fell, sprawling. And they never got any further. 4-6  Jesus told them, “A prophet has little honor in his hometown, among his relatives, on the streets he played in as a child.” Jesus wasn’t able to do much of anything there—he laid hands on a few sick people and healed them, that’s all. He couldn’t get over their stubbornness. He left and made a circuit of the other villages, teaching. Psalm...

5.3-Connect with Jesus when in need. Be very quiet and still and read and listen to Him. Listen your conscience.

Mark 5. 21-24  After Jesus crossed over by boat, a large crowd met him at the seaside. One of the meeting-place leaders named Jairus came. When he saw Jesus, he fell to his knees, beside himself as he begged, “My dear daughter is at death’s door. Come and lay hands on her so she will get well and live.” Jesus went with him, the whole crowd tagging along, pushing and jostling him. 25-29  A woman who had suffered a condition of hemorrhaging for twelve years—a long succession of physicians had treated her, and treated her badly, taking all her money and leaving her worse off than before—had heard about Jesus. She slipped in from behind and touched his robe. She was thinking to herself, “If I can put a finger on his robe, I can get well.” The moment she did it, the flow of blood dried up. She could feel the change and knew her plague was over and done with. 30  At the same moment, Jesus felt energy discharging from him. He turned around to the crowd and aske...

5.2-When you are in trouble cry out to God and He will help you. He will point you to good people to help you.

Mark 5. 5  1-5  They arrived on the other side of the sea in the country of the Gerasenes. As Jesus got out of the boat, a madman from the cemetery came up to him. He lived there among the tombs and graves. No one could restrain him—he couldn’t be chained, couldn’t be tied down. He had been tied up many times with chains and ropes, but he broke the chains, snapped the ropes. No one was strong enough to tame him. Night and day he roamed through the graves and the hills, screaming out and slashing himself with sharp stones. 6-8  When he saw Jesus a long way off, he ran and bowed in worship before him—then bellowed in protest, “What business do you have, Jesus, Son of the High God, messing with me? I swear to God, don’t give me a hard time!” (Jesus had just commanded the tormenting evil spirit, “Out! Get out of the man!”) 9-10  Jesus asked him, “Tell me your name.” He replied, “My name is Mob. I’m a rioting mob.” Then he desperately begged Jesus not t...
