5.18- Principles 17- I read this journal entry from my mom when she was 54 years old, 5.5.1967. “I stood on my feet 12 hours without sitting down one time.”   My mother was working like this at that age and made $1.40/hour.   As a director of the Wishard family resources I will remind myself and others. Do not expect to live within your means unless you are working from 50 to 80hours per week. We want to work and go to school because this allows us to build up other people.   We go to work to treat people with love and kindness and encouragement and to help them have a good day.   We do not want to take advantage of people at work or be a burden to the people at work.   We do not want to abuse them or bully them.   We don’t want to misuse good things so that they become bad things makes us bad workers. 5.17- Principle 16 We believe that we are rich.   Most all Americans are rich compared to the rest of the world.   As rich people we know that we are commanded to give money to the poor to help meet their needs.   As rich people we know that we could not be saved except for the grace of God. We believe that God is generous and so are we. We are committed to not be people who want to get but people who want to give.   The world wants to accumulate and build bigger and bigger places to store their things.   We want to be givers who are a channel of blessing flowing out to help those in need.   Our goals are focused on helping others with our resources . Luke 6. 38  Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap.
