Don't Waste Your One Emergency Call
Don’t waste your one emergency call.
If you have an emergency and look up the “emergency number”
I hope it happens during “normal business hours”. There is a well known national company which
has some “emergency” numbers and I called one and it said I must call during “normal
office hours”.
When you have a storm emergency like the people in Moore
Oklahoma today you need to know someone to call who always answers the phone.
Once there was a storm problem and the disciples of Jesus
called him, “Master!!! Master!!!” They
were concerned that in His sleep He didn’t realize they were about to drown.
It has been a hard spring on people in Boston, West, Shawnee
and Moore. Many there know Jesus and
have called on Him and He has been there for them I’m certain. He has answered through first responders,
neighbors, friends and doctors and nurses.
All those who love their neighbor as themselves are aligned with the
message of the Master of the universe.
Luke 8.
22 One day Jesus said to his disciples, “Let us go over to the other side of the lake.” So they got into a boat and set out. 23 As they sailed, he fell asleep. A squall came down on the lake, so that the boat was being swamped, and they were in great danger.
24 The disciples went and woke him, saying, “Master, Master, we’re going to drown!”
He got up and rebuked the wind and the raging waters; the storm subsided, and all was calm. 25 “Where is your faith?” he asked his disciples.
In fear and amazement they asked one another, “Who is this? He commands even the winds and the water, and they obey him.”
We receive help gladly when we are in trouble. Doesn’t matter if its male or female. We don’t care their country of origin if they
can help us survive. Jesus can use all
kinds of people to rescue us when we are about to die. He uses those who make themselves available
to love their neighbor as themselves.
Thank God for them.
In times of testing and trial we must be ever diligent to
align our values closely to the Master’s.
He did not focus on worry, riches or pleasures but on having compassion
to people in need. Let us keep a noble
heart and there will always be good work for us. Jesus is the flashlight in dark times. He opens our ears to hear our neighbor’s cry
for help. He gives us more work and more
strength for the work day by day. Jesus
will deal with all things that are beyond our capacity so we need not worry or
be fearful. He can stop the ebbing away
of life. When we have so little time or
breath left to call for anyone, let us call for the Master.
Luke 8.
