A Prayer to God for my Childen and Grandchildren.

God,

Help me to remember that these are not mine, they are yours.  You have loaned them to me for a short while.  Your are in charge.  Your plans for them are better than my plans for them.  They have some freedom of choice as to how much they want to be with me and they still choose to spend time with me and for this I am thankful, Lord.

They are trying to follow your Son, Jesus, as I am.  We are together spiritually on that at least.  They have been around me closely and intently for long periods of time and so they know the good, the bad and the ugly about me.

Remind them, if they think of something good about me from time to time, that this good thing comes from you and help them to draw close to you.

They hopefully know that our relationship is as healthy as it is because of you.  Keep them close to your side.

They have accepted your word, O God, regarding your forgiveness and grace.  Help them to accept your word regarding how to live a healthy life. Help me in this area also.

My great pleasure and joy in thought comes from them.  I see your glory in them.

Please protect them.  They are out there doing such amazing things in this world to make an impact for the good.  Please protect them with a unity and closeness to You, O God, and to each other.

Help them to call on the name of your Son, Jesus, when they are in need.

Bring us all home to heaven when our work is finished.  We want to see you face to face.  We want to experience Your glory without out own selfishness and sinfulness mixed in.

Please power us all to keep loving people with the same love that You have given to us.
