Special Prayer Need
Special Needs for Prayer
Friends in Jesus,
You have been so faithful to pray for us when we need
special prayers.
Several years go Sheila’s nephew, her brother Stan’s son, Travis
Self, went to Mexico on a mission trip and contracted unique form of hepatitis. He was near death at only 17 years of
age. He received the blessing of getting
a liver transplant and he is doing well today.
About three years ago his sister in law, Miranda Self, his
brother Spencer’s wife, was discovered
to have a brain tumor. She had surgery
which went well and then other treatments and had been doing well until a
recent MRI revealed another tumor in her brain.
It appears to be a different kind of brain tumor than the earlier
one. She is a strong believer in Jesus
and full of trust, yet we desperately need your prayers.
Surgery is in the morning, Thursday, 6.5,14, at 8am at Dallas Presbyterian hospital. Her family and friends will be there to
support her. She has great confidence in
her surgeon and the staff there where her earlier surgery was performed.
Miranda, 30, and
Spencer have a wonderful, sweet son, Jackson, 4, so we are appealing for God’s
grace and blessing in this surgery. We
don’t know how prayer works, but we know that it does work and we thank you for
praying for her tonight and tomorrow.
Here is her note on Caring Bridge:

Good evening sweet ones! I just wanted to send a quick
little reminder that tomorrow is my surgery day and I cannot even BEGIN to tell
you how ready we ALL are to have it done and OVER WITH!!!
The first go around was pretty short, quick and sweet! This
time, having two WHOLE weeks to just sit and think about it has been, for lack
of a better word that I can think of at the moment... TORTURE!!!!!! Spencer,
Jackson, my parents, family, friends and a whole bunch of people will be at the
hospital in the morning, and all I ask for are your prayers and support for
them! They need it, I need it, we all NEED it! It helped so much the first time
and I know it will help again! I'm calling on all prayer warriors, yet again!
Thank you again! We love you all! And He will guide us and
lead us through this time, just like the first time!!!
Love, Miranda
So thanks again to all my wonderful family and friends for
joining us in this.
Love,
Larry and Sheila Wishard
