Encouragement for older Christians (and younger Christians)
Encouragement for older Christians (and younger Christians) Man driving the Jet Ski is about eighty with some younger folks
When my life aligns with God's purposes for me I receive joy. When I get off track and do my own thing I shoot myself in the foot.
John 15.
4 Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.
John 15.
5 “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.God is good.
Psalm 71.
9 Do not cast me off in the time of old age;
Do not forsake me when my strength fails.
14 But as for me, I will hope continually,
And will [i]praise You yet more and more.
15 My mouth shall tell of Your righteousness
And of Your salvation all day long;
For I do not know the [j]sum of them.
John 15.
7 If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.
11 I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete.
13 Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.
15 I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you.
16 You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you.26 “When the Advocate comes, whom I will send to you from the Father—the Spirit of truth who goes out from the Father—he will testify about me. 27 And you also must testify, for you have been with me from the beginning.

O my God, hasten to my help!

17 O God, You have taught me from my youth,
And I still declare Your wondrous deeds.
18 And even when I am old and gray, O God, do not forsake me,
Until I declare Your [l]strength to this generation,
Your power to all who are to come.
19 [m]For Your righteousness, O God, reaches to the [n]heavens,
You who have done great things;
O God, who is like You?
And I still declare Your wondrous deeds.

Your power to all who are to come.

O God, who is like You?
23 My lips will shout for joy when I sing praises to You;
And my soul, which You have redeemed.
And my soul, which You have redeemed.
