9.11-It is quite easy for politicans and all of us to be actors, hypocrites. We must be careful. Let's worship God.

9.11-
This week our readings remind us of who Christians follow.  Jesus Christ.  A high majority of elected officials in the USA claim to be "Christians".  This means they claim to follow Jesus Christ. What did He teach about the competition for money and power?

Luke 12.
1-3 By this time the crowd, unwieldy and stepping on each other’s toes, numbered into the thousands. But Jesus’ primary concern was his disciples. He said to them, “Watch yourselves carefully so you don’t get contaminated with Pharisee yeast, Pharisee phoniness. You can’t keep your true self hidden forever; before long you’ll be exposed. You can’t hide behind a religious mask forever; sooner or later the mask will slip and your true face will be known. You can’t whisper one thing in private and preach the opposite in public; the day’s coming when those whispers will be repeated all over town.

Psalm 100

100 1-2 On your feet now—applaud God!
    Bring a gift of laughter,
    sing yourselves into his presence.
Know this: God is God, and God, God.
He made us; we didn’t make him.
We’re his people, his well-tended sheep.
Enter with the password: “Thank you!”
Make yourselves at home, talking praise.
    Thank him. Worship him.
For God is sheer beauty,
    all-generous in love,
    loyal always and ever.
