6.1-Why would Jesus say to be His disciple you must "hate" (love less?) others in your life?
6.1
Luke 14.
25 Large crowds were traveling with Jesus, and turning to them he said: 26 “If anyone comes to me and does not hate father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters—yes, even their own life—such a person cannot be my disciple. 27 And whoever does not carry their cross and follow me cannot be my disciple.
Have compassion for your children and grandchildren and
notice when they need first aid type help and be ready to deliver it to them. God used Abraham to help Lot when he needed a
rescue. This is the responsibility of
having the power to help someone in a crisis.
Take a humble position and trust God for wisdom and strength
and guidance. Arrogant leaders who exalt
themselves will be broken by God.
Proverbs 28.
15 Like a roaring lion or a
charging bear
is a wicked ruler over a helpless people.
is a wicked ruler over a helpless people.
16 A
tyrannical ruler practices extortion,
but one who hates ill-gotten gain will enjoy a long reign.
but one who hates ill-gotten gain will enjoy a long reign.
As a leader we will make mistakes and mess up. We need to be humble, apologize and ask
forgiveness and move forward. Great men
and women of God in the Bible did so.
David was a leader and known as a man after God’s heart. He lusted for a woman who was not his wife,
he slept with her, got her pregnant, had her husband killed. He had many bad consequences to come out of
this rebellion, but he was willing to admit his sin and get forgiveness from
God and continued to walk with God. He
moved forward.
Keep inviting people to the banquet of God to the best of
your ability. The banquet is forgiveness
and grace from God and many other good things.
When God’s family meets together in the church it has a number of
different blessings built into it.
Do not be discouraged when they make excuses. That is their freedom of will and of choice. Going to worship God with the
church must be a decision from the heart for the leader of the home and
hopefully all the members of the home and family will follow also. It was a rule in our home that if you lived
with us you went to church somewhere, not necessarily the congregation we
attended.
Love Jesus with 100% of heart, soul, mind and strength. Jesus is the giver of all our blessing. The Bible teaches that everything that we
have was created by Jesus. Then the
people who are having a good life with the family have been redeemed and
ransomed from rebellion and independence by Him.
John 1.
3 Through him all things
were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. 4 In him was life, and that
life was the light of all mankind.
Colossians 1.
15 The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn
over all creation. 16 For in him all things were created:
things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers
or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him.
17 He is before all things, and in him all things hold
together. 18 And he is the head of the body, the church; he is
the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he
might have the supremacy. 19 For God was pleased to have all
his fullness dwell in him, 20 and through him to reconcile to
himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making
peace through his blood, shed on the cross.
These beloved gifts came from Jesus. He must be number one. We must seek His kingdom first. We must please Him before we please each
other.
Love your family as yourself.
Love your neighbor as yourself.
Pay the cost of love with all your heart and soul.
Be salty.
Luke 14.

Listen to God.
Love,
Jesus
