10.29-Get up! Walk. Move. Work out.

10.29-

Wednesday I met Louis at the North Richland Hills Centre where Sheila and I work out.  After my walk against the river current I went to the hot tub.  After 15 minutes I was getting out and Louis came to sit on the edge of the tub and stretch before getting in.  I had seen him come to the river in a walker, but now he only uses a cane.

As I got out he wanted to tell me his story.  "I should be dead except for prayer and God.  I had diabetes so bad that I couldn't move.  Finally, my family took me to the ER then the hospital.  The doctors examined me and I was so bad they gave me three to six months to live in 2015.  They then sent me to a therapy place and a man came to a gathering for people who needed prayer.  He said there was somone there who had been given 3 to 6 months to live.  He turned his head looking over his shoulder to see if it was someone else.  Finally he stood up.  The man said, we will pray and perhaps God will heal you.  He prayed.  I moved out and come to this place and first I was in a chair lowered into this pool.  Then I could use a walker.  Now I only need a cane.  God has answered my prayer and the doctors said I should be dead.

I said, "Can I take your picture?  I remember seeing you come in here in the walker.  What a blessing prayer can be when you get up and walk and do all you can to follow up God's help."

Mark 2

A few days later, when Jesus again entered Capernaum, the people heard that he had come home. They gathered in such large numbers that there was no room left, not even outside the door, and he preached the word to them. Some men came, bringing to him a paralyzed man, carried by four of them. Since they could not get him to Jesus because of the crowd, they made an opening in the roof above Jesus by digging through it and then lowered the mat the man was lying on. When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralyzed man, “Son, your sins are forgiven.”
Now some teachers of the law were sitting there, thinking to themselves, “Why does this fellow talk like that? He’s blaspheming! Who can forgive sins but God alone?”
Immediately Jesus knew in his spirit that this was what they were thinking in their hearts, and he said to them, “Why are you thinking these things? Which is easier: to say to this paralyzed man, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Get up, take your mat and walk’? 10 But I want you to know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins.” So he said to the man, 11 “I tell you, get up, take your mat and go home.” 12 He got up, took his mat and walked out in full view of them all. This amazed everyone and they praised God, saying, “We have never seen anything like this!”
