What the news media will not tell you about guns and schools



I read an article by a man who had written about solutions to the problems of violence after Columbine which made me think of these thoughts.

What you will never see and hear on CBS, NBC, ABC, CNN, FOX and MSNBC about the causes and solutions to the school shooting problem.

God has designed a world that has freedom.  In the Old Testament in the first three chapters Satan is introduced.  In chapter four murder is committed. 

In the New Testament in the fourth chapter Satan is trying to influence Jesus do something extremely foolish. 

The news we saturate our minds with will never mention these realities.

What today’s news stories will never mention is the choice of sin and evil that is done and its impact on other people.

Men need to be loving mates to their wives.

Men and women need to commit to each other and to their children and not give up on them.

Fathers hearts need to be turned to the children.

Adults need to be held accountable.

Boys need to be allowed to be boys with the physical aggression of hard work, hunting, fishing, sports and team discipline.  Boys should not be shamed for being boys.  Sports and highly disciplined military training can be especially good for them.
We give our active boys drugs instead of discipline.  This is not wise.

We need to value human life highly.  Babies and elderly humans need to be cherished.  Even special needs children need to be loved.  We need love and kindness and compassion from people who have been transformed by the mercy and grace of God.  We need to train our children in wisdom and morality.

Without these cultural improvements we keep doing things that are self destructive.
Jesus said in Matthew 15.
19 For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, [i]fornications, thefts, false witness, slanders. 20 These are the things which defile the man; but to eat with unwashed hands does not defile the man.”

Turning away from guns or to guns is not the answer but turning to God and away from the evil one is the answer.
