9.21-Jesus is my spiritual water source. What does this mean?
9.21-
Jesus Christ is my Savior.
He is my source. He is the living
water of my life. He has given me great
people to work with. He has protected us
from disasters day after day. He has
connected us with believers, truth seekers, in Jesus all around the world. We have strengthened each other day after day.
Our goals is to live a blameless life,
but we fall short of our goal and try again.
We are thirsty for a life source that is filled with grace
and truth. Moses was a source of law,
but grace and truth came to us through Jesus. He fills us up daily with the Holy Spirit when
we ask and receive. Hopefully, we can be a spring of spiritual life
giving water to others. God’s grace,
mercy and peace gushes out of Jesus into our hearts and hopefully, from ours
into others.
Grace and truth. The
truth to ourselves about ourselves requires a death to ourselves. We must get over our fear of pain in our
desire to grow spiritually. Our life is
like planting a seed in the ground and multiplication happens with the death of
that kernel of corn, but thousands more come forth from one seed.
John 4.
7 There *came a woman of Samaria to draw
water. Jesus *said to her, “Give Me a drink.” 8 For His disciples had gone
away into the city to buy food. 9 Therefore the Samaritan woman *said to Him, “How
is it that You, being a Jew, ask me for a drink since I am a Samaritan woman?”
(For Jews have no dealings with Samaritans.) 10 Jesus answered and said to
her, “If you knew the gift of God, and who it is who
says to you, ‘Give Me a drink,’ you would have asked Him, and He would have
given you living water.” 11 She
*said to Him, “[b]Sir, You have nothing to draw with and the
well is deep; where then do You get that living water? 12 You are not greater than
our father Jacob, are You, who gave us the well, and drank of it himself and
his sons and his cattle?” 13 Jesus answered and said to her, “Everyone who drinks of this water will thirst again; 14 but whoever drinks of the
water that I will give him shall never thirst; but the water that I will give
him will become in him a well of water springing up to eternal life.”
John 12.
20 Now there were some Greeks among those
who were going up to worship at the feast; 21 these then came to Philip, who was from Bethsaida
of Galilee, and began to ask him, saying, “Sir, we wish to see Jesus.”
22 Philip *came and
*told Andrew; Andrew and Philip *came and *told Jesus. 23 And Jesus *answered them,
saying, “The hour has come for the Son of Man to be
glorified. 24 Truly,
truly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it
remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit. 25 He who loves his [h]life loses it, and he who hates his [i]life in this world will keep it to life
eternal. 26 If
anyone [j]serves Me, he must follow Me; and where I
am, there My servant will be also; if anyone [k]serves Me, the Father will honor him.
