2.4-How to handle excessive burdens
2.4-
In my years of ministry I was honored to be invited into the private and holy space of a person's last hours and moments on earth. It is usually low lighting and very quiet space. The person is their deepest affliction. These carry excessive burdens beyond anyone's strength. I have watched these people despair even of life itself. Then at some point they seem to quit trusting anyone or anything. They give up on the doctors or drugs to deliver them from their situation and release their trust over to God to be their deliverer. There is a peace in this person who has that submitted their deliverance to their creator. He who had delivered them into this world would deliver them through all burdens. The last phrase of the Lord's prayer is for the Father in heaven to keep us safe as His children. He always does.
2 Corinthians 1.
8 For we do not want you to be unaware, brethren, of our affliction which came to us in [d]Asia, that we were burdened excessively, beyond our strength, so that we despaired even of life; 9 [e]indeed, we had the sentence of death within ourselves so that we would not trust in ourselves, but in God who raises the dead; 10 who delivered us from so great a peril of death, and will deliver us, [f]He on whom we have set our hope. And He will yet deliver us, 11 you also joining in helping us through your prayers, so that thanks may be given by many persons on our behalf for the favor bestowed on us through the prayers of many.
