3.3- Choices have consequences.
3.3-
Choices have consequences. To love God and people had good outcomes. To rebel and choose selfishness and hate is to bring pain upon your life. God stands with righteousness and justice. He has ordained authorities in nations to stand for justice with the power of the sword. They are given a job by God to punish the evil and reward those who do right. When justice comes down the guilty would often rather die under a fall rock of a mountain than the punishment they get as a consequence of their choices.
Luke 23.
26 When they led Him away, they seized a man, Simon of Cyrene, coming in from the country, and placed on him the cross to carry behind Jesus.
27 And following Him was a large crowd of the people, and of women who were [f]mourning and lamenting Him. 28 But Jesus turning to them said, “Daughters of Jerusalem, stop weeping for Me, but weep for yourselves and for your children. 29 For behold, the days are coming when they will say, ‘Blessed are the barren, and the wombs that never bore, and the breasts that never nursed.’ 30 Then they will begin to say to the mountains, ‘Fall on us,’ and to the hills, ‘Cover us.’ 31 For if they do these things [g]when the tree is green, what will happen [h]when it is dry?”
32 Two others also, who were criminals, were being led away to be put to death with Him.
Hosea 10.
Ephraim will [j]be seized with shame
And Israel will be ashamed of its own counsel.
7 Samaria will be cut off with her king
Like a stick on the surface of the water.
8 Also the high places of Aven, the sin of Israel, will be destroyed;
Thorn and thistle will grow on their altars;
Then they will say to the mountains,
“Cover us!” And to the hills, “Fall on us!”
