2.7-
We get so fed up with television evangelists who ask us to believe in God and send our money to them that we reject the beautiful God who created the universe. He gives us every perfect gift from heaven.. We get so fed up with selfish politicians that we don't believe a person who puts people first and country second and himself last without regard to political party can even exist.
Don’t throw the baby out with the wash water.
A broken clock is right twice a day. Job’s friends made some true statements, but
in the context of Job’s life and circumstances the words didn’t fit the
situation.
Book banning was on my national and local news tonight.
Book burning has been news for many years.
People burning.
William Tyndale was burned at the stake as a heretic in 1536. His crime. He translated the Bible into English.
Books that teach about subjects that threaten the predominate culture in any town, state or nation can bring about reflection and improved lives. Put me down as against Book banning and book burning.
When you get yourself into the position of being against
everything your opponent says it sets up a trap.
We need to be what we are for.
We know why we are for it and it is because it is the way of truth,
righteousness, justice and love for God and our fellowman. We take this position regardless of what
position others may take. It comes from
our heart, soul and mind as the driving force of our lives.
Psalm 119.36
36 Incline my heart to Your testimonies,
And not to dishonest gain.
The Psalmist got this so right.
Psalm 31.
31 In
You, Lord, I have taken refuge;
Let me never be [a]put to
shame;
In Your righteousness rescue me.
2 Incline Your ear to me, rescue me
quickly;
Be a rock of [b]strength
for me,
A [c]stronghold
to save me.
3 For You are my rock and my
fortress;
For the sake of Your name You will lead me and guide me.
4 You will pull me out of the net
which they have secretly laid for me,
For You are my strength.
5 Into Your hand I entrust my spirit;
You have redeemed me, Lord, God
of [d]truth.
6 I hate
those who devote themselves to worthless [e]idols,
But I trust in the Lord.
Mark 8.
11 And the Pharisees came out and began to argue with Him, demanding from Him a [f]sign from heaven, [g]to test Him. 12 Sighing deeply in His spirit, He *said, “Why does this generation demand a [h]sign? Truly I say to you, [i]no [j]sign will be given to this generation!” 13 And leaving them, He again embarked and went away to the other side.
14 And the disciples had forgotten to take bread, and did not have more than one loaf in the boat with them. 15 And He was giving orders to them, saying, “Watch out! Beware of the [k]leaven of the Pharisees, and the leaven of Herod.” 16 And they began to discuss with one another the fact that they had no bread. 17 And Jesus, aware of this, *said to them, “Why are you discussing the fact that you have no bread? Do you not yet comprehend or understand? Do you still have your heart [l]hardened? 18 Having eyes, do you not see? And having ears, do you not hear? And do you not remember, 19 when I broke the five loaves for the five thousand, how many baskets full of broken pieces you picked up?” They *said to Him, “Twelve.” 20 “When I broke the seven for the four thousand, how many large baskets full of broken pieces did you pick up?” And they *said to Him, “Seven.” 21 And He was saying to them, “Do you not yet understand?”
