I was sorry to hear that one of the most helpful and prolific authors of Christian thought died this morning. Tim Keller, a minister in New York has been a positive influence for many years on many of us who read Christian books.

His most well knovwn quote:

“We are more sinful and flawed in ourselves than we ever dared believe, yet at the very same time we are more loved and accepted in Jesus Christ than we ever dared hope.”

Romans 3.

9 What shall we conclude then? Do we have any advantage? Not at all! For we have already made the charge that Jews and Gentiles alike are all under the power of sin. 10 As it is written:

11     there is no one who understands;
    there is no one who seeks God.
12 All have turned away,
    they have together become worthless;
