 7.27-

7.17.67. I was making mental and emotional preparations for my new life with Sheila as I drove from her home to mine.
There we would have wedding shower thrown for us at the home of Beau and Hazell Hicks by many of the wonderful women from Oak Ridge church..
At my parents home we gathered the gifts putting them in the Selfs pick up. We took them to our first apartment in Abilene, 600 Square feet. Small kitchen, small bathroom one other room. Study. living room, bedroom, family room, guest bedroom and media room all in one room.
Two families would contribute to make one new family starting in this little space. We had almost nothing and we needed even less. We had each other.
The thought of the commitment of marriage scared me to death. So on this day, 7.17.67 I had a day of dedicating or redicating my life to God. My life was never the same after this 56 years ago. Thank you to the one who created me and recreated me. Thanks for 56 of great memories.

Romans 6

What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin so that grace may increase? [a]Far from it! How shall we who died to sin still live in it? Or do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus have been baptized into His death? Therefore we have been buried with Him through baptism into death, so that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too may walk in newness of life. For if we have become [b]united with Him in the likeness of His death, certainly we shall also be [c]in the likeness of His resurrection, knowing this, that our old [d]self was crucified with Him, in order that our body of sin might be [e]done away with, so that we would no longer be slaves to sin; for the one who has died is [f]freed from sin.

Now if we have died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him, knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, [g]is never to die again; death no longer is master over Him. 10 For [h]the death that He died, He died to sin once for all time; but [i]the life that He lives, He lives to [j]God. 11 So you too, consider yourselves to be dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus.

12 Therefore sin is not to reign in your mortal body so that you obey its lusts, 13 and do not go on presenting [k]the parts of your body to sin as [l]instruments of unrighteousness; but present yourselves to God as those who are alive from the dead, and [m]your body’s parts as [n]instruments of righteousness for God. 14 For sin shall not be master over you, for you are not under [o]the Law but under grace.
