3.19- Have you ever had a parent say to you very loudly, "Did you hear me?"

3.19-

Have you ever had a parent say to you very loudly, "Did you hear me?" The implication was that I had some noise going out of mouth in the range of my ears, but it didn't get into my brain and carried out in my body.
The word "hear" in some languages includes moving to do what the words say because of the relationship of love between the leader and the follower. To refuse to act on good words given to us by our leader is a way to develop and rebellious callous over our mind, heart and soul and get ourselves into some hard trouble.
Most of us don't want to learn from even our loving, Godly parents so we choose to learn the hard way. They were probably trying to guide us to avoid some scars. I was reminded by several different voices this week that I need to listen better.
I received some correction this week that I have heard at least two times and I said to the person trying to help me. "I know you are right and I will try to do better."

If I was sincere in my words and behavior that might not have to be said a third time.

James 1.

19 [s]You know this, my beloved brothers and sisters. Now everyone must be quick to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger; 20 for a man’s anger does not bring about the righteousness of God. 21 Therefore, ridding yourselves of all filthiness and all [t]that remains of wickedness, in [u]humility receive the word implanted, which is able to save your souls. 22 But prove yourselves doers of the word, and not just hearers who deceive themselves. 23 For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks at his [v]natural face in a mirror; 24 for once he has looked at himself and gone away, [w]he has immediately forgotten what kind of person he was. 25 But one who has looked intently at the perfect law, the law of freedom, and has continued in it, not having become a forgetful hearer but [x]an active doer, this person will be blessed in [y]what he does.
