Things happen. Big. Life breaking. The earthquake the crashes the buildings in you life. The world tade towers can't fall down but they do.
Things happen.
A beloved child or grandchild gets addicted.
A marriage starts falling apart.
A daughter has a surprise marriage and baby.
A house burns and the family is in a trailer for years.
A company folds.
An investment company with my retirement funds is pondicherry scheme.
A cancer doctor calls and says, "I'm sorry to tell you that the cancer has spread.
Things happen.
If you believe there is an all wise, all powerful God, you have been talking to him. Crying. Pleading. Asking for healing.
Things happen.
The Teacher said his amazing work was only done he was watching what His Father was doing when God was on the move in life shattering moments and in quiet, still moments God was on the move.
Things happen.
These things are allowed to happen so we learn not to rely on ourselves but on God.

2 Cor 1.
8 For we do not want you to be unaware, brothers and sisters, of our affliction which occurred in [d]Asia, that we were burdened excessively, beyond our strength, so that we despaired even of life. 9 [e]Indeed, we had the sentence of death within ourselves so that we would not trust in ourselves, but in God who raises the dead, 10 who rescued us from so great a danger of death, and will rescue us, He [f]on whom we have set our hope.  6.10- The Power of Keeping a Confidence I have a close friend who started listening to my confidential words 46 years ago. He guards his lips and preserves secrets and deep friendship.  7.1- In times when the world seems upside down. In perilous times. People love themselves more than their family or their country. Those in positions requiring generosity are found to be selfish hoarders. People supposed to be humble servants are boastful. Where there should natural affection for family and friends it is absent. These times include men of God being exposed as phoney predators and liars. These call evil good and good evil. What can we do to find a place to stand? Remember those who have shown the love and kindness of God to you? What was the guidance and power in their life? What kind of finish did they have in their life?
