" This is what I have observed to be good: that it is appropriate for a person to eat, to drink and to find satisfaction in their toilsome labor under the sun during the few days of life God has given them—for this is their lot"

18 This is what I have observed to be good: that it is appropriate for a person to eat, to drink and to find satisfaction in their toilsome labor under the sun during the few days of life God has given them—for this is their lot. 19 Moreover, when God gives someone wealth and possessions, and the ability to enjoy them, to accept their lot and be happy in their toil—this is a gift of God. 20 They seldom reflect on the days of their life, because God keeps them occupied with gladness of heart.

We go to such extents to hide our deepest issues.  It pushes us to play games and not be genuine.  King David was not a good example of how to live.  He did many things wrong, outrageous.  But he did the right thing to make it right with honesty with God and HIs fellowman.  It cost him dearly.  The consequences had to be faced, but he asked God to examine him and then wrote of the relief and joy.  5.19- Pretending. Jesus hates the behavior of pretenders, but he loves pretenders. When we pretend we are spiritually strong when in reality we are weak. When we are pretending to be healthy, we don't really open ourselves to Dr. Jesus for deep, soul level surgery. When we are the strongest is when know we are weak in ourselves and must rely on God. That's one of the reasons God doesn't like faking, pretension and hypocrisy.
