Reasons for Optimism

Tax day in America is a big day.  How can it be that America has the biggest economy in the world?  How does it happen that when it is time to give to the poor around the world, America steps up?  It is because God has blessed America.  We have the means to bless others and do so cheerfully.  We can send the strongest of soldiers abroad and they will find ways to bond with children with something as simple as a soccer ball.

Okay.  I’m a homer when it comes to America.  Criticize me if you choose.  Today I don’t care.  I’m filled with optimism.

Why you may say?

1.       God had the power through the Holy Spirit to resurrect Jesus from the grave.  True on Easter and true ever other day.  If He can do that He can do anything.

2.       I will not get my attitude from the right and left wing extremists whether they are religious or atheistic.  I will get my optimism from Jesus Christ, my teacher.

3.       I will not worry. God has provided and He will provide everything I need as His child.

4.       Connection to God is personal and not institutional.  Jesus loves me this I know for the Bible tells me so.

5.       Jesus way is the right way.

6.       When you believe and know this and say it with your own mouth from a sincere heart, then you have been touched by our Father in heaven.

7.       The number of followers of Jesus is growing around the world.  Most rapidly in places where there is no freedom of religion.

8.       God can work with messed up people and dysfunctional families to bring glory to His name.

9.       Our job is to focus on our work and know that God will do His work.

10.   We know that Jesus is coming back to redeem and rescue all of His followers.  Everything is going to be okay.

God bless America on tax day, April 15th.
