11.28-Good news for you today.

If you are a child of God I have some good news for you today.

1.       Allow God’s Spirit to lead you today and He will carry you through the hard desert times you may be living through.

2.       Learn from times in the wilderness and desert.  The saying, “That which doesn’t kill us educates us.”  Is true if we are willing to learn and grow and change for the better by the mercy of God.

3.       Control is given to you.  Your self is in control if you receive it.  Self-control is a real thing.  You don’t have to be led by your fleshly instincts all the time.  You can overcome bad habits by self control which is a gift from God to His children.

4.       Refuse to worship other gods.  Money. Power. Sex. Drugs. Food. Serve only God.

 Do not take foolish risks. Use the good common sense God has given you. Limit your portions of food and eat good food. Don't be foolish. Buckle up when you get in a car. Do not ride a motorcycle. If you must ride a motorcycle use a helmet. Get 30 minutes of exercise daily. I have a friend who lost 100 lbs. last year. How? He ate good, nutritious food and walked 30 minutes per day. Quit smoking.

6.       Move away from discretionary associations where there is a constant negative attitude and words that abound.  Move into association with people who generate good news consistently.

7.       Help prisoners to be free inside their hearts until they can get free totally.

8.       Help those who are handicapped to have your help in any way you can.

9.       Work to help oppressed people to become free in any way you can.

10.   This is God’s will for you as a child of His.  This is regardless of what nation you come from.  I spent three hours yesterday with a close friend who is from Russia.  She is a follower of Jesus and allows Him to set her values. She and I have more in common than my next door neighbor who doesn’t know the love of God.

11.   Use your self control to drive evil out of your life and if you have the opportunity and the interest help others to drive evil out of their lives. 

12.   Help people and encourage them and refresh their spirits and heal their wounds when you can.

13.   Focus your life on receiving and living Good news.  Choose to listen to good news and pass it along.  Get away from negative, hateful news.

If you are not a child of God I have some good news for you.
God wants to adopt you as His child through Jesus Christ, His Son.
Believe in your heart that Jesus is the Son of God who died on the cross to forgive all your sins.
Confess Him as your Savior and Lord.
Surrender your life to Him in trusting obedience as He leads you in being baptized and filled with His Spirit and a part of His community of faith.
There, now you are a child of God.

43 [ap]Everyone kept feeling a sense of awe; and many wonders and [aq]signs were taking place through the apostles. 44 And all those who had believed [ar]were together and had all things in common; 45 and they began selling their property and possessions and were sharing them with all, as anyone might have need. 46 Day by day continuing with one mind in the temple, and breaking bread [as]from house to house, they were taking their [at]meals together with gladness and [au]sincerity of heart, 47 praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord was adding [av]to their number day by day those who were being saved.
