11.3-The value of work. I like to eat. I like having roof over my head.

11.13-

I graduated after working and going to school with a wide variety of job experience.
Farming, grocery store, butcher shop, book selling and oil refinery.  During the days of high school and college the exposure to different jobs was extremely helpful for me then and now.

After college I have had one general career, teaching.  The first three years on public schools and the last 42 years in the church.  These 45 years included a varied of sub jobs which became an additional learning experience. (Coach, principal, youth minister, chaplain, counselor, evangelist, writer, missionary, trainer and mentor)

Some in those jobs were lazy, doing the minimum and riding on others coattails.  Some were average.  Some were exceptional in competence, fun-loving and hard working beyond the call of duty.  My dad’s favorite saying about work was, “If you don’t do anything you don’t get paid for you won’t get paid for anything except just what you do.

2 Thessalonians 3.

11 We hear that some among you are idle and disruptive. They are not busy; they are busybodies. 12 Such people we command and urge in the Lord Jesus Christ to settle down and earn the food they eat. 13 And as for you, brothers and sisters, never tire of doing what is good.
14 Take special note of anyone who does not obey our instruction in this letter. Do not associate with them, in order that they may feel ashamed. 15 Yet do not regard them as an enemy, but warn them as you would a fellow believer.
