9.13-Be generous with others. God is generous with us who are enemies of God.

9.13-

God is generous.
We are made in His image so we too should be generous.

We are to be generous to our spouses.
to our children,
to our grandchildren,
to our parents,
to our siblings,
to our extended family.
These might be easy or challenging.

We are to be generous to our enemies.

Matthew 5.
⁴³ “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ ⁴⁴ But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, ⁴⁵ so that you may ^[ap]be sons of your Father who is in heaven; for He causes His sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. ⁴⁶ For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? ⁴⁷ If you greet only your brothers, what more are you doing than others? Do not even the Gentiles do the same? ⁴⁸ Therefore ^[aq]you are to be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect.

Romans 5.
⁸ But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. ⁹ Much more then, having now been justified ^[e]by His blood, we shall be saved from the wrath of God through Him. ¹⁰ For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved ^[f]by His life. ¹¹ And not only this, ^[g]but we also exult in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received the reconciliation.

Proverbs 11.

²⁵ The ^[l]generous man will be ^[m]prosperous,
And he who waters will himself be watered.
²⁶ He who withholds grain, the people will curse him,
But blessing will be on the head of him who sells it.
²⁷ He who diligently seeks good seeks favor,
But he who seeks evil, evil will come to him.
²⁸ He who trusts in his riches will fall,
But the righteous will flourish like the green leaf.

Romans 12.
¹⁴ Bless those who persecute ^[m]you; bless and do not curse. ¹⁵ Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep. ¹⁶ Be of the same mind toward one another; do not be haughty in mind, but ^[n]associate with the lowly. Do not be wise in your own estimation. ¹⁷ Never pay back evil for evil to anyone. ^[o]Respect what is right in the sight of all men. ¹⁸ If possible, so far as it depends on you, be at peace with all men. ¹⁹ Never take your own revenge, beloved, but ^[p]leave room for the wrath of God, for it is written, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord. ²⁰ “But if your enemy is hungry, feed him, and if he is thirsty, give him a drink; for in so doing you will heap burning coals on his head.” ²¹ Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
