9.15-How Jesus saves.

9.15-

You will call His name Jesus because He will save His people from their sins.

Matthew 1.
²¹ She will bear a Son; and you shall call His name Jesus, for ^[w]He will save His people from their sins.”

Jesus saves us in so many ways.  When I was lost and confused I had a man to sit me down and explain to me how that the reason for my lack of joy was that I was trying to save myself instead of trusting Jesus to save me.

I had tried to save myself by being popular with everyone but that didn't work.  Money was another goal I set up for a time as being the way to find joy.  It didn't work.

Get rid of a concept of God in my life and I could be free do do whatever I wanted without any judgment and guilt.  That didn't work either.  

John 7 and 8 was my reading today and I saw again how many ways Jesus is my Savior.

He saves me from relying upon the timing of others for my life. Other people know more about when I should do things than I do, but God knows even better the best timing.  There is a reality of death as a part of life.  When Jesus finishes our heavenly home and we finish our work here then He comes to get us and take us home.

John 7.

7 After these things Jesus was walking in Galilee, for He was unwilling to walk in Judea because the Jews were seeking to kill Him. ² Now the feast of the Jews, the Feast of Booths, was near. ³ Therefore His brothers said to Him, “Leave here and go into Judea, so that Your disciples also may see Your works which You are doing. ⁴ For no one does anything in secret ^[a]when he himself seeks to be known publicly. If You do these things, show Yourself to the world.” ⁵ For not even His brothers were believing in Him. ⁶ So Jesus *said to them, “My time is not yet here, but your time is always opportune. ⁷ The world cannot hate you, but it hates Me because I testify of it, that its deeds are evil. ⁸ Go up to the feast yourselves; I do not go up to this feast because My time has not yet fully come.” ⁹ Having said these things to them, He stayed in Galilee.

¹⁰ But when His brothers had gone up to the feast, then He Himself also went up, not publicly, but as if, in secret. ¹¹ So the Jews were seeking Him at the feast and were saying, “Where is He?” ¹² There was much grumbling among the crowds concerning Him; some were saying, “He is a good man”; others were saying, “No, on the contrary, He leads the people astray.” ¹³ Yet no one was speaking openly of Him for fear of the Jews.

John 8.
²¹ Then He said again to them, “I go away, and you will seek Me, and will die in your sin; where I am going, you cannot come.” ²² So the Jews were saying, “Surely He will not kill Himself, will He, since He says, ‘Where I am going, you cannot come’?” ²³ And He was saying to them, “You are from below, I am from above; you are of this world, I am not of this world. ²⁴ Therefore I said to you that you will die in your sins; for unless you believe that ^[f]I am He, you will die in your sins.” ²⁵ So they were saying to Him, “Who are You?” Jesus said to them, “^[g]What have I been saying to you from the beginning? ²⁶ I have many things to speak and to judge concerning you, but He who sent Me is true; and the things which I heard from Him, these I speak to the world.” ²⁷ They did not realize that He had been speaking to them about the Father. ²⁸ So Jesus said, “When you lift up the Son of Man, then you will know that ^[h]I am He, and I do nothing on My own initiative, but I speak these things as the Father taught Me. ²⁹ And He who sent Me is with Me; He ^[i]has not left Me alone, for I always do the things that are pleasing to Him.” ³⁰ As He spoke these things, many came to believe in Him.
