11.10- Our citizenship is in heaven. What does this mean for us today in all countries?
11.10-
Our citizenship is in heaven.
We are to render to Caesar what is Caesar’s. Money, taxes, proper honor and respect.
We are to render to God our heart, soul, mind and strength.
Luke 17.20
Now having been questioned by the Pharisees as to when the kingdom of God was coming, He answered them and said, “The kingdom of God is not coming with signs to be observed;
John 16.36
Jesus answered, “My kingdom is not of this world. If My kingdom were of this world, then My servants would be fighting so that I would not be handed over to the Jews; but as it is, My kingdom is not of this realm.”

Any person who fits neatly in a political party does not fit neatly in the kingdom of God.
To “fit neatly” in my mind means a few things:
1. You believe your political party has all the answers to the world’s problems.
2. You find it difficult to criticize your own party.
3. You place your ultimate hope for the healing of the world in a party.
4. There’s a refusal to acknowledge any good from a different party.
5. Your social imagination is shaped more by political talking points than the gospel of the kingdom.

One of the prominent ways idolatry manifests is in language of uncritical, unquestioned allegiance.
If the leader you follow, church you attend, political party you affiliate with, etc, is beyond critique, idolatry is usually near.
