2.11- True prophets don't generally dress in soft clothing.

2.11-

True prophets don't generally dress in soft clothing.  That's for people in king's palaces.  Jesus did not want to be aligned with the kings in their powerful position. They came to try to make Him a king and He wanted no part of it.  Those who claim to follow Jesus and who claim to be disciples of Jesus are not interested in being someone who imitates and President or National leader or some Monarch with a lot of earthly power.  A true prophet is there is stand with God to confront and push for repentance and improvement from the President or other national leader.  They don't wear soft clothing and live in nice houses.  They live in the wilderness and eat whatever their friends might share with them.  They are not reeds swaying with the winds of what is trendy and what wins elections.  They are followers of Jesus who was introduced by John the Baptist, a true prophet and a bold prophet who was willing to speak truth to power.

Malachi 3.
“Behold, I am going to send My [a]messenger, and he will [b]clear the way before Me. And the Lord, whom you seek, will suddenly come to His temple; [c]and the [d]messenger of the covenant, in whom you delight, behold, He is coming,” says the Lord of hosts.

Matthew 11.
As these men were going away, Jesus began to speak to the crowds about John, “What did you go out into the wilderness to see? A reed shaken by the wind? [h]But what did you go out to see? A man dressed in soft clothing? Those who wear soft clothing are in kings’ [i]palaces! [j]But what did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I tell you, and one who is more than a prophet. 10 This is the one about whom it [k]is written,
Behold, I send My messenger [l]ahead of You,
Who will prepare Your way before You.’

Luke 7.
24 When the messengers of John had left, He began to speak to the crowds about John, “What did you go out into the wilderness to see? A reed shaken by the wind? 25 [r]But what did you go out to see? A man dressed in soft [s]clothing? Those who are splendidly clothed and live in luxury are found in royal palaces! 26 But what did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I say to you, and one who is more than a prophet. 27 This is the one about whom it is written,
Behold, I send My messenger [t]ahead of You,
Who will prepare Your way before You.’

Mark 1.
The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God.
As it is written in Isaiah the prophet:
Behold, I send My messenger [a]ahead of You,
Who will prepare Your way;
The voice of one crying in the wilderness,
Make ready the way of the Lord,
Make His paths straight.’”
